After a surprisingly decent start to the season, the A's are “who we thought they were,” coming into Sunday on a 6-game losing skid. They've put up two or fewer runs in five straight, but today look for them to cross the plate a few more times than expected.

On the surface, KC starter Brady Singer is having a great 2024. He's 6-1 with a 1.81 ERA and 0.972 WHIP. But his xERA (expected ERA) is significantly higher and his Stuff+ rating isn't particularly good. So don't be surprised when the Oakland hitters get to Singer early. Also, the Royals' bullpen has the third worst FIP in all of MLB.

The last five games aside, hitting hasn't really been an issue for Oakland this season. Over the L30 Days, they are 11th in wRC+ and for the year they have a 99 wRC+ vs. righties. We know they'll be coming up to bat nine times (they are the road team) and getting to four runs shouldn't prove to difficult.
