THE PLAY: Vegas Golden Knights -127

I like the Golden Knights -127 in Nashville on Tuesday night. I see this as a 4-2 Vegas type of a game.

Let's get the obvious out of the way. Yes, Vegas played in Minnesota last night, and yes, this is the back end of a back-to-back. I get it. With that said, this is not your average tired road team. This is the same group that went to the Stanley Cup Final in June and swept the Avalanche to get there. They came out of the gate this year winning four of their first five.

And they're winning every way possible. They put six on Seattle, with Eichel and Hertl picking up four points apiece. They fell behind Toronto 3-0 at home and came all the way back to win in a shootout. Teams that do that in October don't fold because they slept on a plane.

Now look at Nashville. The Preds opened at home against Minnesota, lost 3-1 and scored one goal doing it. Their backup goalie is on IR, so their starter has had to play every single game with nobody behind him. When your No. 1 can't get a night off in the second week of October, that's a long season waiting to happen.

Let's be honest here, this Nashville team is going to struggle to find goals. They have no one that scares you, and they're slow and heavy. This is a team playing dump and chase, and I expect speed to beat them night in and night out. One thing about Vegas: they have speed. Eichel, Marner, Hertl and Stone are not getting out-skated by this group for 60 minutes. The bottom line is Nashville is not a good hockey team.

I know Nashville beat Vegas 4-1 the last time these teams met. That was March. Different time of year, different Vegas team. This one is coming off a Cup Final run and playing like it has something to prove.

At -135, I'm getting the better team with more firepower against a club running one goalie into the ground. Don't overthink this.
