    NBA(805) Brooklyn Nets at (806) Detroit Pistons4:05pm EST - Jan 21/2018
THE PLAY: Brooklyn Nets 6.0 (-110)

NBA Free Pick to Click: Nets +6 over Pistons

Brooklyn visits Detroit for a scheduled 4:00 p.m. ET at Little Caesars Arena. The Pistons have lost four straight games against a solid against the spread Nets squad who open a five-game road trip with this Sunday afternoon event in the Motor City. NBA Free Pick to Click: Nets +6 over Pistons.

Detroit is coming off a 122-112 setback to the Washington Wizards. The Nets defeated a playoff hopeful on Friday night taking down the Miami Heat by a 101-95 margin.

The Nets defensive stalwart, DeMarre Carroll, found his offense on Friday night scoring 26 points for Brooklyn in the win and guard D'Angelo Russell played his most minutes since early November. Russell missed two months with a knee injury and the Nets coaching staff will not pressure the young point avoiding any possible setbacks in a season in which this New York group is building on tomorrow.

Brooklyn coach Kenny Atkinson is doing a terrific job of preparing his team for each and every game. Backup point guard Spencer Dinwiddie has been solid in Russell's absence and outplayed veteran Heat guard Goran Dragic in Friday night's victory at Barclays Center. Dinwiddie recorded 15 points on 6-of-12 shooting against Miami.

Detroit also got a bit healthier this past week. The Pistons coaching staff returned young Stanley Johnson and offered him 12 minutes off the bench after sitting out the previous three and eight of the previous nine games with a hip injury.

Overall the Pistons youngsters have hit that NBA mid-season wall. And a number of their players are playing through some nagging injuries. Rookie SG Luke Kennard (thumb) scored 16 points on Friday after sitting out the previous game with a thumb injury.

While revenge isn't a large variable in the NBA the Nets would like to return the beat down that the Pistons but on Brooklyn the last time these two met. In truth, it was Detroit's last win, a 114-80 rout at Brooklyn on January 10.

The Nets currently hold the second best ATS mark in the league. And Brooklyn continues to get little respect from the oddsmakers. The Nets have covered nearly 75 percent of their road games (last 15 away contests) since early November with a number of impressive straight up wins during that time span; e.g. at Miami, at Portland, at Atlanta twice, and at Dallas.

The rout that the Pistons handed the Nets' nearly two weeks ago, a 114-80 loss, was the second game in two days in which they came off an emotional overtime one-point loss to the Toronto Raptors.
