Sanchez finally allowed a run in his last start, snapping a historic streak of 50.2 consecutive scoreless innings pitched. Even then, the damage didn't come until the 7th inning, meaning he once again cruised through the first five frames untouched. Simply put, Sanchez has been one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball, finishing last month ranked 2nd in MLB in both strikeouts and innings pitched.
The matchup is favorable as well. Toronto has struggled against left-handed pitching all season, posting a mediocre .221 batting average and .612 OPS against southpaws.
