Genesis Invitational Course: Riviera Country Club

The 2026 Genesis Invitational returns to historic Riviera Country  Club, one of the PGA Tour’s most respected and strategically demanding venues.

The par-71 layout stretches just over 7,300 yards and  features tree-lined fairways, classic bunker placement, and some of the most nuanced green complexes players face all season.

Riviera rewards creativity and shot-shaping, particularly on approach shots into its firm,  tilted greens.

This week, rain on Monday and Tuesday should leave the course  noticeably softer, especially in the fairways and on the greens.

That added moisture will reduce rollout off the tee and allow players to attack more pins early in the tournament. However, a bit of additional rain expected Thursday could keep conditions from firming up too quickly, meaning approach control and spin management will be slightly less  demanding than in a typical Riviera setup.

Even with softer conditions, Riviera’s strategic bunkering, the iconic  short par-4 10th, and its demanding finishing stretch will ensure that course management remains critical.

Expect scoring to be a touch lower than usual if the course stays receptive, but it will still require elite iron  play and confident putting to contend on this classic Los Angeles layout.

Genesis Invitational: Players That Can Trip You Up

Russell Henley is being priced like a safe Top 20 option, but the history here says otherwise. He’s -135 to finish Top 20 despite accomplishing that just once in the last seven years at this event.

The lack of length off the tee has consistently hurt him on this layout, and with wet fairways expected, it only magnifies that issue.

He’s gaining just +0.13 strokes off the tee this week, which isn’t enough to offset the disadvantage. At this price, he’s a trap.

Si Woo Kim finally saw his shaky putting catch up to him last week. He lost -0.59 strokes on the greens, and the rest of his game wasn’t strong enough to bail him out.

He’s been skating by with mediocre putting most of the season, and that’s a dangerous formula long term.

On a course where birdie conversion is critical, that flat stick is a liability. He feels  like a stay-away until the putter stabilizes.

Collin Morikawa just delivered a masterclass with the irons in his win, but this screams regression spot. He gained +2.72 strokes on approach  and drove it beautifully, yet still ranked just 44th in putting, gaining only +0.14 on the greens.

Winning while putting that poorly isn’t a sustainable formula week after week. If the irons cool off even slightly, the scoring won’t hold. This is the type of bounce-back fade that can trip bettors up.

Genesis Invitational: DraftKings Darlings

Nico Echavarria ($6,300) looked lost the first three weeks of the season with three missed cuts and poor underlying stats, but everything flipped  last week with an 8th-place finish.

His approach play, putting, and  around-the-green numbers all took a massive step forward. Driving still  needs to tighten up, but he showed he can survive here with a 34th-place  finish last year. At this price in DFS, you’re chasing upside—and Nico  just flashed it.

Ryo Hisatsune ($6,800) is one of the hottest players in this range with  three straight Top 10 finishes. He ranks 6th in total strokes gained over the last three weeks and is gaining strokes in every major category. The

putter has been especially sharp at +0.99 strokes gained over that stretch,  and his elite driving accuracy sets up consistent birdie looks. He brings both form and statistical balance into a week where that profile should  pay off.

Sahith Theegala ($6,900) didn’t have his best week last time out, but the bigger picture is strong. He’s never missed the cut at this event, finished 17th here last year, and has made every cut this season with two Top 10s already.

Off-the-tee play hasn’t been elite, but his approach and  putting numbers have been excellent so far. At this salary, he offers a high floor with legitimate top-15 upside.

Rest of Lineup: Knapp $8600, Matsuyama $9500, Fleetwood $10300

Top Finisher

Scottie Scheffler Top 5 Including Ties -142

Akshay Bhatia Top 20 Including Ties +154

Outright: Ryo Hisatsune +9800
