RBC Heritage Course: Harbour Town Golf Links
The RBC Heritage returns to Harbour Town Golf Links, one of the most unique and precision-based tests on the PGA Tour.
This par-71 layout just over 7,200 yards is short by modern standards, but it demands accuracy, shot-shaping, and elite course management rather than power.
Tree-lined fairways, overhanging branches, and strategic bunkering force players to pick exact targets off the tee to set up the right angles into the greens.
Harbour Town features some of the smallest greens on Tour, and they are often dome-shaped, making them difficult to hold even for the best ball-strikers.
Missing greens is inevitable, so scrambling and short-game creativity are critical to avoid bogeys. The course rewards players who can control their ball flight, hit precise wedges, and consistently get up and down.
The closing stretch along the water, highlighted by the iconic 18th hole with the lighthouse backdrop, provides a scenic but demanding finish.
Harbour Town is rarely a bomber’s course— this is a place where precision beats power, and the winner is typically someone who stays patient, avoids big mistakes, and takes advantage of scoring opportunities when they appear.
RBC Heritage: Players That Can Trip You Up
Xander Schauffele is being priced as one of the top options this week, but the course history and current profile don’t fully support it.
He’s posted just one Top 15 here and finished 18th the last two years. Around the green, he’s actually losing strokes (-0.04 last 30 days), which is a concern on a layout where scrambling is critical.
These greens are tough to hit, so that weakness gets exposed quickly. At this price, don’t be surprised if he falls short of a Top 10.
Cameron Young comes in red hot with four straight Top 7 finishes, but this course has consistently been a problem.
He’s finished 54th, 62nd, and 51st here the last three years, showing a clear mismatch in fit. His approach play and scrambling have both struggled on this layout, which is a bad combination.
Even with great recent form, some courses just don’t suit a player’s eye. This feels like another one of those weeks.
Matthew Fitzpatrick won here in 2023, but his results since then have taken a step back— finishing 28th and 38th the last two years. He’s still being priced as a Top 5 option, which feels aggressive given the recent trend.
The biggest concern is the putter, as he ranks worst in total strokes gained putting among the top 16 players in this field over the last 30 days. On a course where putting matters, that’s a major red flag. He’s a risky play at this number.
RBC Heritage: DraftKings Darlings
Tony Finau ($6,600) is simply too cheap for the upside he brings in a no-cut format. He’s made six straight cuts and has finishes of 38th, 12th, and 31st here over the last three years—solid enough course history.
The putting and driving accuracy can be inconsistent, but with four guaranteed rounds, his scoring ability stands out at this price. In this range, you’re betting on upside, and Finau has plenty of it.
Brian Harman ($7,000) is a perfect course-fit play this week. He just played well at a venue that typically doesn’t suit him, and he’s now made six straight cuts.
This course minimizes the need for distance, which plays directly into his strengths. His history here is elite—3rd, 12th, and 7th the last three years. That combination of form and fit makes him one of the strongest mid-range options.
Sudarshan Yellamaraju ($7,200) is bringing serious momentum into the week. He didn’t play last week but posted finishes of 14th, 5th, and 6th in his previous three starts.
His putting has been outstanding at +0.66 strokes gained, which is a huge weapon on a course like this. Around the-green play is a concern, but the upside is undeniable if the ball-striking holds. He’s a high ceiling DFS play worth targeting.
Rest of Lineup: McNealy $8500, Henley $9600, Fleetwood $10100
