eero 400 Track: Chicagoland Speedway

The eero 400 marks NASCAR’s long-awaited return to Chicagoland Speedway for the first time in seven years, bringing Cup Series racing back to one of the sport’s most popular intermediate tracks.

Chicagoland is a fast 1.5-mile tri-oval featuring 18 degrees of banking in the corners, allowing drivers to race multiple grooves from the bottom lane all the way up against the wall.

The wide racing surface rewards momentum, aerodynamic efficiency, and tire management, often producing long green-flag runs and exciting side-by-side battles.

Because the track hasn’t hosted a Cup race since 2019, teams have very little Next Gen data to rely on, making setup and practice more important than usual.

The return to Chicagoland adds an extra layer of unpredictability, as drivers and crew chiefs will have to quickly adapt to a track that has changed over years of weathering and inactivity.

With its history of close finishes and high-speed racing, the eero 400 has all the ingredients to become one of the most exciting races of the 2026 season.

eero 400 Top 10 Prediction: Chris Buescher -110

Buescher wasn’t good last week on a track he’s normally good at so that’s a bit concerning, but probably why we’re getting a great number on him.

Last week was on a road course that the car just never seemed right, but we’re at a 1.5 mile oval where he’s been really good. Top 10’s at Pocono and Michigan, big ovals, are a good sign, and top 10’s at Texas, Kansas, Darlington and Las Vegas are even better signs. He’s finished Top 10 in 8 out of 12 races on ovals bigger than a mile, I think he does it again.
