Home Run Props Best Bet of the Day #1: Kerry Carpenter (DET) +350

After losing three of four to the Astros at home the Tigers went into Yankee Stadium and swept New York as they head to Texas to take on the Rangers.

Veteran Nathan Eovaldi takes the mound for Texas having given up 17 home runs already this season and ten of those coming against left handed batters.

We’ll take outfielder Kerry Carpenter to hit his home run props tonight who had a home run in that recent sweep and smashed seven of his 13 total home runs in June.

He compiled a .573 slugging percentage in June, is slugging .720 over the last week and although Eovaldi hasn’t allowed a home run over his past two starts we think there is some regression to the means tonight with the Tigers leading the league in home runs hit for the month of June as well.

At home Eovaldi has allowed a home run every 4.2 innings pitched compared to road games allowing a home run every seven innings pitched.

Carpenter has hit all 13 home runs against right handed pitching while slugging .530 so let’s take him at +350 to hit a home run tonight. If you’re looking at other Tigers batters for home run props consider both Riley Greene (+350) and Spencer Torkelson (+500).

Home Run Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Gavin Sheets (SD) +450

The Padres couldn’t have gotten out of Chicago fast enough after being swept by the Cubs including a 23-3 onslaught yesterday as they look to bounce back in LA tonight taking on the Dodgers.

Gavin Sheets did have a home run against the Cubs on Tuesday as we’ll look to cash his home run props tonight. Sheets has actually had a couple home runs over the past week and he prefers playing on the road compared to home.

He has hit 10 of his 14 home runs on the road while batting .280 and slugging .568 compared to home games batting .185 and slugging just .353.

All 14 of his home runs have come against right handed pitching with Roki Sasaki taking the mound for Los Angeles. He has allowed 14 home runs on the season with eight of them coming at home and half coming against left handed batters.

Over his last three starts (14 IP) Sasaki has allowed four home runs in total and Sheets has already hit a home run against the Dodgers this season against starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto who is exceptionally better than Sasaki this season.

Take Sheets at +450 to hit a home run on the road tonight with other Padres batters to consider for home run props includes Manny Machado (+390) and Fernando Tatis Jr. (+420).
