Home Run Props Best Bet of the Day #1: Seiya Suzuki (CHC) +255

Chicago looks for their eighth win in nine games today as they host the Padres once again at Wrigley Field with winds blowing out to left field for tonight’s game.

We’ll look to take advantage of those conditions with Seiya Suzuki as we think he has a solid shot of hitting his home run props tonight.

Lefty JP Sears makes his second start of the season tonight after allowing a home run in 5.2 innings pitched during his first start at home against the Braves.

Although Sears doesn’t have many stats to go off of for this season, let’s not forget he allowed 30 total home runs last season during his time with the Athletics and Padres. Suzuki has 12 home runs this season and just one away from 100 for his career with five of those 12 home runs coming in June while slugging .560.

Six of his 12 home runs have come at home while slugging .500 on the season compared to a .406 slugging percentage on the road.

He was 2-4 with two RBIs last night against the Padres including the game winning single in the ninth inning so confidence is at a high for Suzuki heading into the second game of the series. After last night’s performance Suzuki is now 6-12 with a double, home run and three RBIs against the Padres this season.

Sears allowed 26 of his 30 home runs to right handed batters last season while allowing a .507 slugging percentage against them so let’s take Suzuki to hit a home run tonight at +255 with other Cubs batters to consider for home run props are Dansby Swanson (+340) and Alex Bregman (+370) who is 7-20 with two home runs against Sears all-time.

Home Run Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Andy Pages (LAD) +350

The Dodgers and Athletics go at it once again in the hitter friendly Sutter Health Park and we’ll take a shot at Andy Pages cashing his home run prop, but this is more about the pitcher taking the mound for the Athletics.

Jeffrey Springs gets the start tonight for the Athletics allowing 22 home runs in total this season which is tied for the most in the MLB thus far.

He has allowed 16 of those home runs to right handed batters and 14 of those at home while sporting a 6.43 home ERA. Pages hit a home run in last night’s 9-4 win which was only his third of the month, but Pages has hit a home run in back-to-back games three different times this season and even had a three home run game as well so we have to strike while the iron is hot.

Ten of the home runs Springs has given up have come over his last five starts (21.2 IP) while also allowing 28 home runs last season.

He’s well on his way to breaking that mark this season with Pages belting nine of his 16 home runs on the road. Pages is slugging just .358 this month, but .500 over the past week so let’s take him at +350 to hit a home run tonight. Other Dodgers hitters to look at for home run props includes Shohei Ohtani (+215) and Max Muncy (+320).
