We can’t sugarcoat it, Scherzer has been absolutely dreadful this season compiling a 10.23 ERA while allowing nine total home runs in just 22 innings pitched.

Sure, he has been better in road starts than at home but he has allowed six of his nine home runs to left handed bats while allowing them to hit .322 to go along with a .661 slugging percentage this season.

Five home runs allowed by him have come over his last two starts (5.2 IP) with Duran already hitting a home run against Scherzer across six at bats all-time.

Duran has hit six of his 12 home runs at Fenway this season while averaging .240 and slugging .434 compared to road games batting .190 and slugging .365. He had 16 home runs last season and is well on his way to passing his career high in home runs for a season of 21 set in 2024.

Going against a vulnerable starter, let’s take Duran at +440 to hit a home run tonight with other Red Sox lefties to take advantage of include Wilyer Abreu (+390) and if you want a long shot consider Masataka Yoshida (+760) who is 4-6 with a home run all-time against Scherzer.

MLB Home Run Props Best Bet of the Day #2: Paul Goldschmidt (NYY) +470

No Aaron Judge, no problem for the Bronx Bombers as they’ve notched 23 total runs across their last three games played as they host the White Sox once again tonight.

Four different Yankees players hit home runs last night including Paul Goldschmidt who we’ll take a shot with hitting his home run props again tonight. Sure, the veteran’s power has fallen off since becoming a Yankee but he has already matched his home run total from last season in 100 less games played!

The White Sox send out lefty Anthony Kay who has a 6.04 road ERA this season while allowing seven of his ten total home runs on the road as well in 28.1 innings pitched.

He has allowed nine of ten home runs to right handed batters while allowing a .301 batting average and .503 slugging percentage as well.

Goldschmidt has been one of the best hitters in the league against lefties this season batting .419 and slugging .774 against them and in the last 15 days Goldschmidt is batting .380 to go along with a .660 slugging percentage as well.

With the Yankees first baseman turning back the clock as of late, let’s take Goldschmidt to hit a home run at +470. Other Yankees sluggers to look at for a home run tonight includes Ben Rice (+410) and long shot Jose Caballero (+880) who has hit a home run in back-to-back games.
