THE PLAY: Cincinnati Reds +104 J Musgrove (RHP), A Abbott (LHP) Must Start

This is a great situation to jump on the Reds as they were off Monday while the Padres were splitting a doubleheader down in Atlanta. 

San Diego has also generally been poor against lefties this season and today Cincy will be sending southpaw Andrew Abbott to the mound. Record-wise, Abbott has been snake bit by some poor luck, but he's also allowed two runs or less in six of his last seven starts. I expect a strong outing from him here. Meanwhile, the Padres counter with Joe Musgrove, who has a 6.36 ERA and 1.51 WHIP in his eight starts. Starting pitching edge here goes to the home team. 

I know the Reds have REALLY struggled at the plate as of late, but they should have success against Musgrove. The situation is just so favorable towards the Reds as well with the day off while SD played two games yesterday. I'd say Cincy has been more unlucky than bad this year as they have a MLB-worst 1-11 record in one-run games, which will start to improve. Given the scheduling spot, I just don't think the road team should be favored here.
