Poland vs Wales Analysis

Wales finished top of Group B4 last time out which has catapulted them into the top tier of Group A teams ahead of this year’s competition.

Poland, meanwhile, finished third in Group A1 behind the two heavy hitters of the Netherlands and Italy as they failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Poland will no doubt be confident of a victory here on Wednesday, however, with four wins from each of their last four head-to-head meetings with Wales in international competition.

Wales Look To Repeat Success Of Last Tournament

Despite playing in a weaker Group B, Wales had an absolutely fantastic tournament last time out in the Nations League.

The Welsh finished with the highest number of clean sheets out of any team in the competition (83%) along with the highest points per game tally out of any Nations League team as well (2.67 ppg on average).

They’ll no doubt be looking for a repeat of that here and they’re in some solid form right now as well, having not lost a game since going all the way back to last summer’s EURO tournament.

Poland’s Recent Home Struggles

Far from being the fortress it once was, Poland’s home form has dipped over recent years in international matchups.

Losses to Hungary, Slovakia and the Netherlands over their last ten games at home, along with crashing out of the EURO with no wins and finishing bottom of the group in a bracket many people had assumed they’d qualify from, means the Polish haven’t had the best last couple of years in international soccer.

However, a 2-0 playoff final victory against Sweden back in March has ensured the Polish are on their way to World Cup 2022, so that will no doubt provide a boost for them ahead of this clash against the Welsh to kick off the Nations League on Wednesday.

Poland vs Wales Prediction

We like the Both Teams to Score – Yes prop at around even money between Wales and Poland on Wednesday.

Poland had the sixth-worst xGA at home out of any team in the Nations League last time out (55 teams total), while Wales bagged 14 goals over their recent World Cup qualifying campaign, second only to Belgium in Group E, so Wales definitely have the ability to broach this Polish defense.

Poland, however, has consistently shown their ability to get on the scoresheet themselves in big games, especially at home, where they’ve scored at least one goal in each of their last twelve international matches in Poland going all the way back to October 2020.

Take the Both Teams to Score – Yes prop on Wednesday between Wales and Poland with a small look towards the Correct Score 1-1 prop as well at +550.
