LIV Golf Dallas 2025 Course: Maridoe Golf Club

Maridoe Golf Club, located just outside Dallas, is a modern championship venue built with elite competition in mind.

Situated on over 200 acres of former prairie land once home to the Columbian Country Club, the course was purchased in 2014 by Albert Huddleston, who envisioned a facility that would challenge the world’s best players.

In 2017, renowned architect Steve Smyers redesigned the layout, bringing his signature boldness and strategic flair seen at clubs like Isleworth and Old Memorial.

The result is a sprawling, over-7,800-yard test that blends traditional shot values with modern scale and intensity.

The course features dramatic holes that test both distance and precision, including two par-5s over 600 yards—most notably the 655-yard 2nd, one of the longest holes in LIV Golf’s rotation.

The par-4 12th, which played as the toughest hole during the 2024 Team Championship final round, demands accuracy and length at 475 yards.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the drivable 337-yard 6th is a risk-reward opportunity that tempts aggression and ranked as the easiest par-4 in that same round.

The entire layout is crafted with Bermuda grass tees, fairways, and greens, which are projected to run at a quick 13 on the Stimpmeter—putting an emphasis on approach control and short-game touch.

Maridoe isn’t just long—it’s demanding in every aspect. The wide-open Texas winds, penal rough, and firm playing conditions create a course that rewards consistency and punishes mistakes.

While it lacks the trickery of some classic European venues, it makes up for it with scale, strategy, and honest difficulty.

LIV Golf returns here after hosting its 2024 Team Championship, and the course promises to once again be a decisive battleground as the season heads into its final stretch.

Sergio Garcia -150

He may not be a regular on the PGA Tour anymore, but don’t overlook Garcia’s motivation or course history this week.

He played lights out here during last year’s Team Championship—finishing 3rd in the individual stroke play and winning both of his match play rounds with his partner.

With The Open Championship on the line and a DP World Tour appearance next week in pursuit of a Ryder Cup spot, Sergio has every reason to be locked in. He’s one of the few in this field with both elite pedigree and serious incentive.

Talor Gooch -110 over Brooks Koepka

This is a great buy-low, sell-high spot. Koepka’s trending down with finishes of 18th, 30th, 17th, and 33rd since his runner-up in Singapore. Meanwhile, Gooch is trending up with steady improvements — 10th, 3rd, 13th, and 12th in that same stretch.

Course history favors Gooch too: he shot -1 in the individual round here last year while Koepka struggled at +8. With Gooch rounding into form and Koepka fading, this is great value on the more consistent player.
