The 2025 LIV Golf Andalucía returns to the legendary Real Club Valderrama in southern Spain from July 11–13. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., this par-71 birdie-resistant layout plays just over 7,000 yards, but it demands precision far beyond its modest length.

The course’s firm, fast fairways, thick fescue, and deep, intricate bunkering are hallmarks of classic European design.

Valderrama’s slick greens are surrounded by tricky run-off areas, meaning even conservative misses pose long recovery challenges.

With its meandering layout through pine-studded terrain, sandy hollows, and strategic angles, the emphasis remains squarely on shot-making intelligence rather than power. Scoring tends to stay modest, and double-digit-under performances are rarely seen.

The star-studded field includes defending champion Sergio García, longtime course ace, alongside Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, PatrickReed, Tyrrell Hatton, and Joaquin Niemann, all bringing strong links-style credentials.

Sergio Garcia Top 20 (-250)

This is Garcia’s favorite course, he’s an honorary member, he’s won many times across multiple Tours here, and it’s he’s said, “This is my favorite course”.

He hasn’t been very good recently, but throw that out the window when he plays here. He’ll be near the top of the leaderboard, so just getting him in the Top 20 should be a solid play.

Talor Gooch -115 over Lucas Herbert

Form edge clearly points to Gooch in this head-to-head matchup.

Lucas Herbert has struggled mightily in his last two starts, finishing 40th and 46th, while Talor Gooch has been trending in the right direction.

After a slow start to the season, Gooch has rattled off four Top 13 finishes in his last five events and rebounded well after a rough first round in Dallas.

His form is clearly superior, and with momentum on his side, he’s the play here over the out-of-sync Herbert.

Anirban Lahiri +4500

He’s finished Top 11 in the last two tournaments, a big improvement going into a tournament he’s very motivated to win.

Last year, he went to playoff and lost to Sergio Garcia on Sergio’s home course so I get an extra motivated Lahiri who’s played really well recently on a course he played great at last year. He’s worth a sprinkle.
