College Football Player Props Prediction 1: CJ Baxter, Texas Over 78.5 Rushing Yards (-115) DK

The Texas Longhorns lost one of the nation’s top rushers for the remainder of the season as Jonathon Brooks tore ligaments in his knee in a 29-26 victory against TCU last week.

Brooks 1,139 rushing yards ranked 6th in the nation and his 11 touchdowns were a team high. However, he wasn’t the teams #1 running back when the season started. It was freshman CJ Baxter who went down with foot and rib injuries.

Baxter was brought in to replace last season All-American Bijan Robinson, Brooks a third-year sophomore was a close #2.

Despite playing behind Brooks, Baxter has cleared this rushing total in his last two games with 18 carries for 61 yards and 10 carries for 90 yards. The Iowa State run defense is actually pretty solid as they allow only 124.7 yards per game.

However, that leaves plenty of room for Baxter to eclipse 78.5 rushing yards and Texas is favored by 7.5 points so they should be playing with a lead and looking to run the ball. Let’s jump on this over in a game where Baxter will get the lion’s share of the carries.

College Football Player Props Prediction 2: Joe Milton III, Tennessee Under 210.5 Passing Yards (-115) DK

Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Joe Milton III has managed to clear this total in 7 of 10 games on the season despite averaging only 228 yards per game.

However, Milton III has fallen sort of this number against stiffer defenses like UVA, UTSA and Texas A&M. Now he faces a Georgia Bulldogs pass defense that only allows 181.3 passing yards per game which ranks 13th in the nation.

They held Missouri quarterback Brady Cook to 212 yards and Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart to 112 yards despite them averaging 274 and 258 respectively.

They even held Gators quarterback Graham Mertz to 230 yards despite him averaging 272 yards on the season. The Dawgs have been putting the clamps on quarterbacks all season and they should hold Milton III under 200 in this contest.
