College Football Player Props Prediction 1: Chris Bell Louisville OVER 35.5 Receiving Yards (-115) DK

Louisville wide receiver Chris Bell has caught 23 passes for 365 yards and two touchdowns during the 2023 campaign.

Bell has been a deep threat with an average of 15.9 yards per reception and we have seen him catch a pass for 22+ yards in six games this season. He’s cleared this total in 6 of his last 7 games and 7 of 9 games on the season.

This includes his last two games against Virginia and Miami where he recorded four receptions in each game. This is a crucial game for Louisville who could potentially win the ACC or make the College Football Playoff if they can overcome Kentucky.

The Wildcats have struggled with their pass rush which will give Louisville quarterback Jake Plummer time to allow plays to develop downfield. Look for Bell to beat them over the top and clear this receiving total on Saturday.

College Football Player Props Prediction 2: CJ Baxter, Texas UNDER 98.5 Rushing Yards (-115) DK

Last week we recommended you take CJ Baxter OVER 78.5 rushing yards and he came through with 117 yards on carries in a victory over Iowa State.

It was Baxter’s first triple-digit rushing output of the season as he filled in for the injured Jonathan Brooks who had taken over for him early in the season.

However, Texas still favors running back by committee as Jaydon Blue also recorded 7 carries while Baxter did most of his damage in the second half.

The issue this week is the Texas Tech run defense that has only allowed two 100+ yard rushing performances in Big 12 play despite allowing 155+ rushing yards per game. The Red Raiders have plenty of momentum with victories in three straight games.

This total seems like a bit of an overreaction based on last week’s dominant performance. Look for the Longhorns to continue to utilize multiple backs and for Baxter to fall short of his rushing yard total against a team with the ability to bottle up the run.
