“In Cesc We Trust.” So it goes with Cesc Fabregas and his Como side that are very much in the European mix thanks to a Serie A table that, at least beneath runaway leader Inter at the top and cruising its way to the Scudetto, looks quite a grab-bag as we exit February.

Cesc and his crew are currently in a Conference League qualifying spot in 6th but just five points out of a Champions League place after reminding last week they weren’t about to disappear from the chase in that rousing 2-0 win at Juve, yet another clean sheet (the 13th of the campaign!) kept by French keeper Jean Butez.

Fabregas has also been able to find goals all season from varieties of sources including young Argentine Midfielder Nico Paz (on 9 goals) as Como’s goal difference of +22 ranks behind only Inter in Serie A.

Lecce has far different concerns…survival, for one, involved in a torrid battle with Fiorentina and Cremonense, all on 24 points, straddling the drop zone, with Lecce having the extra burden of being the lowest-scoring team in the league (just 17 goals in 26 matches).

No issue for Cesc in the first meeting at Via Del Mare just after Christmas, rolling to a 3-0 win in yet another Butez clean sheet.

As the Como win price by the lake on Saturday is a bit prohibitive (-270 or thereabouts), we have to look at some other Como win options, including the -1.5 goal spread at +110, which we slightly prefer to the Asian Line -1.25 goals at -114, as we have no confidence in Leece beating Butez even once.

Prices are a bit better on Como Fulltime/Halftime at even money, and with no confidence in Lecce finding the net, under 2.5 goals at -125 seems a fair price.

To perhaps enhance the return a bit, could go on a correct score at Como 2-0 (though the +450 return is a bit thin on a correct score), while Anastasios Douvikas, who scored in the first meeting, to net again either as the first or last-scorer at +333 also tempts.
