NFL Week 1 First Touchdown Props Prediction: JK Dobbins, Broncos (+750 or better)

The first step to identifying who will score first is figuring out which team will strike first, and the Denver Broncos are Week One’s chalk as -8.5-point home favorites.

Rookie running back RJ Harvey’s preseason performance may have earned him some regular season consideration in Denver, but the Broncos backfield still belongs to JK Dobbins.

Dobbins has dealt with plenty of injuries in his last few seasons with the Ravens and Chargers, but he still managed to log 1,058 all-purpose yards and 9 touchdowns with the starting share of touches in Los Angeles during the 2024 campaign.

Only one of those were first touchdowns but now Dobbins will get opportunities against a Tennessee Titans defense that allowed the 8th most rushing touchdowns (tied 15) and the MOST receiving touchdowns (7) to opposing running backs last season.

The Titans also allowed the 7th most rushing yards overall with 133.9 per game. The No. 1 overall draft pick Cam Ward will be making his first career start in a hostile environment at Mile High Stadium against a stout defense and that could lead to some short field situations early on for the Broncos.

Dobbins will get the red zone looks for Dobbins early in this contest and that will give us some great chances to cash a +750 ticket.

NFL Week 1 First Touchdown Props Prediction: James Conner, Cardinals (+400)

The Arizona Cardinals are another heavy favorite in Week 1 as they are laying -6.5 points while playing on the road against the New Orleans Saints.

James Conner will again be the lead back in Arizona and he’s had a nose for the end zone with 70 all-purpose touchdowns in 93 games since the beginning of the 2018 season.

Last season, Conner logged another 9 touchdowns and two of those were first touchdowns. Now Conner gets an opportunity to feast on a Saints defense that allowed the MOST running back rushing touchdowns (tied 18) and 2nd most rushing yards (141.4) during the 2024 campaign.

New Orleans is projected to be the worst team in the NFL; they are led by a rookie quarterback in Spencer Rattler, and their Week 1 team total is set at only 17.5.

Conner will get the lion’s share of the carries on the fast track at the Caesars Superdome and if Arizona gets in the red area his number will be called.
