Warriors vs Mavericks Analysis

The Dallas Mavericks hit the road to play the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night from the Chase Center.

The Warriors handled their business last round, beating the Memphis Grizzlies in six games. The Mavericks pulled off a major upset as they prevailed against the Phoenix Suns in seven games.

Dallas won three of four head-to-head matchups with the Warriors during the regular season. We will be breaking this game down from a player props perspective today. Tip off is scheduled for 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PST

Warriors vs Mavericks Player Props

There are many different directions you could look when it comes to player props in this game. However, with it being a Game 1, I personally like to keep it light until we get to see a head-to-head post-season showdown between these teams.

One play that catches my eye is Andrew Wiggins over 15.5 points. He was able to score 16 points or more in 5 of 6 games against the Memphis Grizzlies and was able to surpass this line in 3 of 4 regular season games against the Mavericks.

Wiggins should see the benefit of getting lost in the shuffle as the Mavericks throw their best defenders at Steph Curry and Klay Thompson. My favorite player prop is actually involves Klay Thompson, his under 21.5 points. He fell short of this point total in 8 of his 11 post-season games, including 5 of 6 against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Thompson will likely draw the attention of one of the Mavs best defenders in Reggie Bullock. The Mavs held Thompson under 21.5 points in both regular season games he played against them this season.

Klay does most of his damage from three point land and Dallas allowed the least log distance shots in the league this season.

Player Props Play: Klay Thompson Under 21.5 Points

Warriors vs Mavericks Team Props

I feel like we will have a better gage on game totals once we see how these teams stack up against each in the playoffs.

The Dallas Mavericks team total is set at 104.5, while the Golden State Warriors are set at 110.5. The Mavericks put the clamps down on the Phoenix Suns in the last five games of their seven game series. Dallas has played at the slowest pace in the league all season and after a long series I expect the same tonight.

By the same token, they will probably wear out as the second half approaches. See: Boston Celtics just last night. The Mavericks held the Warriors under 110 points in three of four regular season matchups.

I am concerned about things opening up in the second half, so let’s isolate it to the Warriors under 55.5 points in the first half.

Team Total Prop Play: Golden State Warriors First Half Under 55.5

Warriors vs Mavericks Prediction

We will utilize our top player prop of Klay Thompson under points, unfortunately the lowest line available is only 22.5 which makes me more confident in the play.

We also made a case for Andrew Wiggins over 15.5 points in the player props portion of this article. The lowest we get is over 13.5 for this intriguing same game parlay. Another spot I like is over on Luka Doncic rebounds.

He had double digit rebounds in 7 of his 10 games with 9, 9 & 7 in the other three games. Against the Warriors during the regular season Doncic had 11, 10, 8 and 7 rebounds.

The Mavs continue to utilize smaller lineups and this could force Golden State to do the same, making Doncic one of the tallest players on the court. Let’s add his rebounds over, but lowered from 9.5 to 7.5. Add all three plays together and we get a high percentage +215 play.

Same Game Parlay Play:

Andrew Wiggins 14+ Points
Klay Thompson Under 22.5 Points
Luka Doncic 8+ Rebounds
+215
