Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors Analysis

The Dallas Mavericks travel to the Chase Center in San Francisco for a Western Conference clash with the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night. The Warriors have the second best record in the league at 34-13 after outlasting the Utah Jazz 94-92 on Sunday.

Meanwhile the Dallas Mavericks won another game with defense on Sunday, 104-91 against the Memphis Grizzlies to improve to 27-20 on the season. In the first of four head-to-head meetings, Dallas prevailed at home by a final score of 99-82. Klay Thompson was still on the shelf, while the Mavs won the game without Kristaps Porzingis. These teams will meet again on February 27th at the Chase Center and in Dallas on March 3rd.

Mavericks Running Hot

The Dallas Mavericks owned the Memphis Grizzlies winning each the first three quarters before letting their foot off the gas in the fourth to cruise to a 104-91 victory. Luka Doncic just missed a triple double with 37 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Kristaps Porzingis also chipped in with 15 points. The Dallas Mavericks have been on fire recently, winning 11 of their last 13 games.

The Mavs are fully healthy outside of Sterling Brown being out with a foot injury. Luka Doncic is also the teams leading scorer on the season with 25.6 points a game. Dallas really struggles on offense where they rank 25th with 105.3 points scored per game. They play at the 2nd slowest pace in the entire league. However, they play stellar defense only allowing 102.5 points a game, good for 3rd least in the NBA.

Warriors Win Overcoming Injuries

The Golden State Warriors have been one of the best and most consistent teams in the NBA this season. They beat the Utah Jazz 94-92 on Sunday for their third straight victory. The Warriors have survived being without both Draymond Green and James Wiseman for an extended amount of time due to injury.

Andre Iguodala and Klay Thompson are both day-to-day coming into this contest. It’s no surprise that Steph Curry led the way in their victory over Utah with 26 points while shooting over 37% from beyond the arc. The Warriors have #1 rated defense in terms of both efficiency ad points allowed. They are middle of the pack in points scored with 109.4 points per game, ranking 13th in the league.

Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors Prediction

The Golden State are 3.5 point home favorites with a 211.5 over/under. The Mavs are 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 head-to-head matchups with the Warriors. The Mavs have cashed under tickets in 11 of their last 13 games while not surpassing 212 combined points in their last five games.

These teams are actually #1 & #2 in cashed unders this season. The Mavs are 13-32-2 over/under while the Warriors are 16-29-2. They also rank 13th and 29th in pace of play respectively. I don’t see a stronger play in this game than under 211.5. We will make the under our official play with the utmost confidence.

Official Play: UNDER 211.5

Dallas Mavericks vs Golden State Warriors Preview from GoldSheet

No fools they, the wagering public, which knows the Warriors aren’t hitting on all cylinders the past few weeks and has stopped the oddsmakers from attaching the usual Golden State pointspread premium. That and the last time Steve Kerr’s bunch faced the Mavs on Jan. 5, when the recent mini-funk began, with the Warriors only 5-6 straight up since, part of a 3-8-1 spread skid that extends to the Jan. 3 win-but-no-cover vs. the Heat, has acted the reduce Tuesday’s impost accordingly.

Golden State is certainly not at full strength, with Draymond Green (calf) remaining absent and Klay Thompson very iffy after missing his last two games amid concerns about his surgically-repaired knee. With Steph only hitting 5 of 26 from the floor and 1 for 13 beyond the arc, it’s a miracle that Golden State still beat the Jazz by 2 on Sunday (though Utah was also minus Donovan Mitchell).

In Green’s absence, the defense has at least retained its shape, ranking fourth in the eight games since he last participated. Dallas actually enters San Francisco as the more in-form team, winning five of six and eleven of thirteen, including that 99-82 pounding of the Warriors almost three weeks ago in Big D on Dirk Nowitzki Night, when the motivated Mavs put another blanket on Steph (just 5 for 24 from floor) and Luka Doncic was the clear Man of the Match with 26 points. Dallas also doing it lately with defense, reflected in “unders” eight straight and 13-1 across the last 14 games, so that might be our first preference at Chase Center. Play Dallas and the Under.
