New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics Betting Analysis
The Boston Celtics visit Madison Square Garden for an Eastern Conference clash with the New York Knicks on Monday evening.
The Knicks won their fifth straight game 128-106 at home against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. The Celtics won their third straight game 110-107 in Philadelphia over the 76ers.
This will be the third of four games in a regular season series that currently sits 1-1 after New York evened things up in overtime on January 26th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM/4:30 PST from the Big Apple.
Celtics Still On Top
The Boston Celtics improved to an NBA best 44-17 after winning their third straight game over Philadelphia on Saturday.
Three-point shooting proved to be the difference as Boston shot 16-36 44.4% from beyond the arc while the Sixers went only 9-27 33.3%. Jaylen Brown led his team in scoring with 26 points on 10-21 from the field.
Jayson Tatum recorded an 18 point, 13 rebound double-double while Derrick White chipped in with 18 points off the bench. The Celts have only a half game lead over the Milwaukee Bucks for the leagues best record.
They currently sit at 3rd in scoring with 118.1 points a game on 47.6% shooting. Boston ranks 4th in defensive rating and 7th in defensive scoring with only 112.1 points allowed per game.
Jaylen Brown has already been ruled out for this contest due to personal issues while Derrick White is listed as questionable with a right ankle sprain.
New York State Of Mind
The New York Knicks upped their record to 35-27 on the season after winning their 5th straight game against New Orleans. The Knicks dominated the glass with a 54-39 rebounding edge.
Julius Randle led all scorers with 28 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Mitchell Robinson recorded his second straight double-double since returning from injury with 11 points and 13 rebounds while Jalen Brunson chipped in with 20 points and 5 assists.
New York currently occupies the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference, 9.5 games behind the first place Celtics and 2.5 games ahead of Miami to avoid the play-in tournament.
The Knicks are slightly above average in scoring with 114.8 points a game on 46.2% from the field. They also sit at 14th in defensive rating but 9th in defensive scoring with 112.2 points allowed per game. The Knicks sport a clean injury report, a breath of fresh air nowadays.

The Boston Celtics enter this contest as 2.5 point road favorites with a total set at 224. Two of the hottest current teams in the Eastern Conference collide on Monday night at the Garden.
Jaylen Brown is out for Boston and that offers a tremendous opportunity to take the over 5.5 on Marcus Smart assists. Smart has recorded 6+ assists in all six games Brown has missed this season with an average of 9.83 assists.
Smart has cleared 5.5 assists in 31 of 44 games on the season for a 70% success rate. The Knicks have allowed the 10th most assists to opposing point guards over the last 15 games and the 11th most assists overall on the season.
