New York Knicks vs Golden State Warriors Betting Analysis
The Golden State Warriors take their annual trip to the Big Apple for an inter conference showdown with the New York Knicks. The Knicks are coming off a 109-106 victory in Indiana against the Pacers.
The Warriors crushed the Raptors 126-110 north of the border in Toronto. Golden State prevailed 111-101 at home against New York in their first meeting in late November. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 from Madison Square Garden.
Road Warriors
The Golden State Warriors improved to 15-16 on the season as they snapped a three game losing streak with the victory in Toronto Sunday. The Dubs have struggled away from with home a 3-14 road record.
It was also the Warriors first victory in five tries without Steph Curry on the court this season, he’s out indefinitely with a shoulder injury. Jordan Poole scored a career high 43 points on 14-23 from the field and 5-11 from three-point land.
Draymond Green and Klay Thompson each added 17 points while Green added 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The Warriors are now without their top two scorers in Curry and Andrew Wiggins. Golden State relies heavily on their offense that ranks 4th in scoring with 117.3 points per game.
They do struggle defensively as they rank 25th with 116.6 points allowed per game. On top of Curry & Wiggins, Klay Thompson, Donte DiVincenzo and Johnathan Kuminga are all questionable with injuries.
New York State Of Mind
The New York Knicks won their 7th straight game over the Indiana Pacers to improve to 17-13 on the season. Jalen Brunson led all scorers with 30 points on 11-22 from the field. Julius Randle had a 25 point 14 rebound double-double as did Mitchell Robinson who added a 10 point 13 rebound double-double.
During the seven game win streak, the Knicks are scoring 112 points a game on 44% from the field and 36% from beyond the arc. Defensively the Knicks have been outstanding, 3rd in the league in opponents shooting percentage and 5th in opponent three-point percentage.
On the season, New York is just above average in scoring at 14th with 114.1 points per game. On defense they sit at 13th with 112.2 points allowed per game. Obi Toppin is the only player listed on the Knicks injury report, he has been ruled out for the next 2-3 weeks with a knee injury.
New York Knicks vs Golden State Warriors Prop Prediction
The New York Knicks are favored by 4.5 points with a total set at 223. The New York Knicks are on an incredible run and defense has been a big part of that. The Warriors are known to attack the opponents weak link defensively and that’s Jalen Brunson.
Brunson has a points + rebounds + assists number of 33.5 and he has only cleared that twice in his last 10 games for an average of 26.5 PRA’s. The Knicks have given more minutes to guards Miles McBride and Quentin Grimes as they play far superior defense to that of Brunson.
Brunson had a brutal 22 PRA game in his first meeting with Golden State and those two guards only played five minutes in that game. Brunson is always a candidate for four trouble and he could see even less minutes if he’s not scoring early and often. Let’s go for an under on this one!!
