Denver Nuggets vs Memphis Grizzlies Betting Analysis
The Memphis Grizzlies visit Ball Arena for a highly-anticipated Western Conference clash with the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night. The Nuggets outlasted the Charlotte Hornets in a 119-115 shootout on Sunday night.
The Grizzlies watched a seven game winning streak fall by the wayside in a 115-109 defeat against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This will be the first of three games in a regular season series that Memphis won 3-1 last year. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST as the nightcap of a TNT Tuesday night doubleheader.
Motivation For Morant
The Memphis Grizzlies had their seven game win streak snapped by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night, dropping their record to 19-10 on the season. The trailed the Thunder for the majority of the game and by as many as 24 points, while Ja Morant was ejected just before halftime.
The Grizzlies scored 66 points in the 2nd half but couldn’t mount a comeback. Dillon Brooks led all scorers with 32 points on 10-24 from the floor. Jaren Jackson Jr chipped in with 16 points and 8 rebounds while Tyus Jones added 14 points off the bench.
The Grizzlies defense ranks 10th in scoring with 111.4 points allowed per game. Offense is their calling card as they rank 6th with 116.2 points per game. The Memphis Grizzlies sport a clean injury report outside of Desmond Bane being out for another few weeks, a breath of fresh air nowadays.
Joker With MVP Caliber Performance
The Denver Nuggets improved to 18-11 on the season with a home victory over the Charlotte Hornets. Nikola Jokic had a monster game with a 40 point, 27 rebound, 10 assist triple-double. Aaron Gordon added a 19 point, 10 rebound double-double while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope chipped in with 20 points.
The Nuggets shot 45.7% from the field but missed 12 of their 34 free throws. Denver ranks 8th in scoring with 115.8 points per game.
They are just below average in defensive scoring at 17th with 114.8 points allowed per game. Michael Porter Jr is doubtful for this contest with a heel injury while Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Jeff Green and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are all questionable.
Denver Nuggets vs Memphis Grizzlies Prop Prediction
This game is a virtual pick’em with the Denver Nuggets favored by only one point with a total of 236.5. This is a showdown between two of the elite teams in the Western Conference.
Both come into this game hot as Denver has won four of five games while Memphis has won seven of their last eight games. The Grizz should be highly motivated as they watched a seven game winning streak go down the tubes in a game where Morant was ejected in questionable fashion.
The Nuggets give up plenty of points, allowing their last six opponents to score 115+ points. The Memphis team total is 118.5 and I’m backing them to fly past this number.
