Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets Betting Analysis

The Denver Nuggets travel to Minnesota for a Western Conference clash with the Timberwolves on Monday night. The Timberwolves lost their sixth straight game 116-104 at home against the lowly Detroit Pistons.

The Nuggets beat the Boston Celtics 123-111 just last night in Denver. This is the first of four games in a regular season series Minnesota won 3-1 in the 2021-22 campaign. Tip-off is slated for 8:00 PM EST/5:00 PST from the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Red Hot Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets upped their record to 24-12 after winning their 12th game in 14 tries over the Boston Celtics last night. Denver had a tremendous shooting advantage, especially from three-point land where they went 17-30 (56.7%) compared to Boston going only 9-33 (27.3%).

Nikola Jokic led all scorers with a monster 30 point, 12 rebound and 12 assist triple-double. Bruce Brown added 21 points while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 18 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds.

The Nuggets beat the top-seeded Celtics despite playing without their second best scorer Jamal Murray, who missed the game due to injury management. Denver is the 5th ranked scoring offense with 116.6 points a game on a league high 51% from the field.

They rank below average in scoring defense with 114.3 points allowed per game while ranking 24th in defensive rating. Jamal Murray is listed as probable but missed last night’s game due to injury management, so should be good to go tonight. Jeff Green has already been ruled out for this contest.

Wolves Struggle Without Towns

The Minnesota Timberwolves record slipped to 16-21 on the season after losing their 6th straight game to the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. The Wolves were dominated down low, losing the rebounding battle 52-39 while being outscored 56-42 in the paint.

Anthony Edwards led all scorers with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. D’Angelo Russell was right behind him with 25 points while Rudy Gobert added 9 points and 10 rebounds. Minnesota has went only 6-10 since Karl Anthony-Towns went down with a calf injury on November 28th.

Minnesota is middle of the pack in scoring at 15th with 114.4 points per game. They rank 22nd in defensive scoring with 115.9 points allowed per game while sitting at 14th in defensive rating. Outside of Towns, Taurean Price (shoulder) & Jordan McLaughlin (calf) have both been ruled out for this contest.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets Prop Prediction

The Denver Nuggets are 2 point road favorites over the Minnesota Timberwolves with a total set at 233.5. This is a battle between two teams heading in completely opposite directions as Minnesota has lost 6 straight while Denver has won 10 of their last 12 including beating the Boston Celtics last night.

This could wind up being a let down spot for the Nuggets as they had to travel for the second game of a back-to-back.

Anthony Edwards has really taken over as the Wolves main scorer without KAT on the court. His point total is set at 25.5 tonight and he has scored 27+ points in 7 of his last 8 games for an average of 29.1 points per game during that span.

It’s makes sense, considering he has averaged 21.4 shots in taken 20+ shots in 7 of those 8 games. 18 of the last 20 players to take 20+ shots have scored 25+ points. The Nuggs have allowed the 2nd most points per game to opposing point guards and 8th most points to opposing shooting guards.

Over the last week, Jaylen Brown has scored 30 points, Tyler Herro 26 points, Landry Shamet 31 points and De’Aaron Fox 31 & 41 points. Let’s back Edwards to continue this torrid pace and score 26 points or more tonight.

Prediction: Anthony Edwards Over 25.5 Points -110 Draftkings

That interest in motor sports turned into a desire to make money off the sport through fantasy contests and sports betting. Andy has expanded that sports betting experience to become profitable in a number of other sports, transforming this interest from a side hobby to a major source of income.
