Dallas Mavericks vs Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Analysis
The Cleveland Cavaliers travel to American Airlines Arena for an interconference clash with the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. The Mavericks snapped a two game losing streak with a 121-114 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.
The Cavs will be looking to bounce back after a 112-111 loss to the San Antonio Spurs last time out. This is the first meeting between these two squads who will meet again this Saturday in Cleveland. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PST.
Cavaliers Continue Texas Trip
The Cleveland Cavaliers fell just short in a one point loss to the San Antonio Spurs after rallying back from a 19 point 3rd quarter deficit. The Cavs shot horribly from three-point land as they went 5-23 for only 21.7%.
Donovan Mitchell led all scorers with 28 points on 12-24 (50%) from the field. Evan Mobley added an 17 point 13 rebound double-double while Darius Garland chipped in with 18 points and 9 assists. Cleveland has the #1 scoring defense in the NBA with only 105.1 points allowed on 45.7% from the field.
They have tailed off a bit offensively as they rank 22nd with an average of only 110.9 points a game. Outside of a couple of long-term injuries, the Cavs sport a clean injury report, a breath of fresh air nowadays.
Mavericks Iceman Dominates Again
The Dallas Mavericks bounced back from losses to the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls with a 121-114 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Luka Doncic led the team in scoring and rebounds while falling just short of a triple double with 38 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists.
Spencer Dinwiddie added a 20 point 10 assist double-double while Tim Hardaway Jr also added 20 points. Dallas dominated the glass with a 50-42 rebounding edge. The Mavericks are the 19th ranked scoring offense in the league with 111.9 points a game.
Defense is the Dallas calling card as they rank 7th with only 110.1 points allowed per game. Maxi Kleber (knee) and Josh Green (elbow) have both already been ruled out for this contest.
Dallas Mavericks vs Cleveland Cavaliers Player Prop Prediction
The Dallas Mavericks are 2.5 point home favorites with a total of only 216.5. This is an interesting game as both teams are defensive minded and play at the two slowest paces in the league.
Dallas has been struggling on the boards recently and now they are even thinner up front without Kleber. Evan Mobley has a rebound prop number set at 9.5 for this contest. He has surpassed that total in 7 of his last 9 games, with 12+ boards in six of those games.
He has been playing a consistent 38 minutes a night and doesn’t get into foul trouble with only one foul out all season. Two clunky offenses may lead to some extra rebounds to gobble up. Let’s back Mobley on the boards tonight!!
