NBA Player Props Best Bet #1: Amen Thompson (HOU) Over 27.5 Points + Rebounds (-115)

Amen Thompson has done a solid job this season taking the role of Houston’s de-facto starting point guard as the Rockets play at Indiana tonight.

Kevin Durant is already listed out for this game as we’ll look at Thompson to go over 27.5 points + rebounds.

In the two games Durant has missed this season Thompson has averaged 29.5 points + rebounds with the Pacers giving up the second most points and most rebounds to point guards per game over the last 30 days.

Thompson should see tons of usage playing almost 39 minutes per game and was the team’s leading scorer with 21 points in Houston’s 111-107 win against the Mavericks on Saturday with Durant in the lineup.

In their first head-to-head meeting with Indiana back on Dec. 29 Thompson notched 28 points + rebounds on 6-9 shooting and 8-8 at the free throw line with Thompson shooting 50% from the field this month.

It’s worth noting that Indiana allows the second most free throw attempts per game this season and rank second to last in rebounding rate.

Let’s take Thompson to be highly involved on both ends of the floor tonight once again without Durant this time though going over 27.5 points + rebounds against the Pacers.

NBA Player Props Best Bet #2: Jared McCain (PHI) Over 5.5 Points (-115)

Second year player Jared McCain is looking to re-claim his magic that saw him average 19.1 points per game in November 2024 before tearing his meniscus in December and not returning until December 2025.

With Paul George now suspended for 25 games we should see some more of the Duke product in the rotation averaging 12.2 point per game across his last four while averaging almost 20 minutes per game during that time as well.

Philadelphia kicks off a five-game road trip taking on the Clippers tonight and don’t get us wrong, LA’s defense has been looking true to form as of late but Philadelphia offense has been solid too winning three straight while averaging 125 ppg during that time although it was against three below average teams.

With McCain coming off the bench though it is worth noting that the Clippers’ bench specifically ranks bottom ten in defensive rating this season among all bench units in the NBA as we’ll look for McCain to go over 5.5 points tonight.

The Clippers have allowed the fifth most three-point makes per game to point guards over the last 15 days with McCain making at least four three-point baskets in three of his last four games as well.

We’d only need two three-point makes to get him over 5.5 points tonight so let’s take McCain to be some sort of catalyst off the bench for Philadelphia tonight as they look to kickoff their road trip in strong fashion.
