Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers Betting Analysis
LeBron being out is obviously the big story, and with this new roster it will be interesting to see how they respond.
The new pieces have performed well as the team has a faster pace, and they’ll need to perform well tonight against Memphis who appears to have righted the ship a bit after a slump.
The Grizzlies are holding on to the #2 seed while the Lakers are needing wins to make the play-in games, so the motivation tonight will certainly be there for LA.
Ok Anthony Davis…You’re Up!!!
Davis is going to have to perform at an elite level, and more important…stay healthy. He’s one of the best players in the league, but he misses a lot of games, and that’s not going to be possible if they want to make the play-in game.
Vanderbilt and Beasley have had their moments, and they’ll have their chances to perform without Lebron, and consistency will be important as they probably can’t afford bad games from them in the starting lineup.
The Lakers are 5-9 straight up and 4-8-2 ATS without him, but that was with the Westbrook roster so I can’t take too much away from that record.
Grizzlies Turning It Around?
The Grizzlies went on a big losing streak starting with the Shannon Sharpe game in Los Angeles on Jan. 20, and they proceeded to lose 8 out of 9 games, but they’ve won 4 out of 6 with the losses being to Boston and Philly.
They have not been a good ATS team this season as they are 27-30 this season and only 4-6 out of their last 10 and their game totals have been all over the board so picking an O/U for this game will be very difficult.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers Expert Prediction
I don’t trust this Grizzlies team to cover this number against the Lakers who desperately need wins, and I really believe I get a big motivation edge tonight with the Lakers.
AD will start the game healthy tonight, and there isn’t really much Memphis can prepare for as the Lakers roster is new, and them playing without Lebron adds a new wrinkle.
I can see some unexpected players performing well with Lebron out of the lineup, and I like supporting teams on the first game they are without their superstar.
Memphis’s bad record covering games is a red flag for me for them, and I’m not a buyer on Memphis until Adams gets back. This Lakers team won’t stop fighting until the end so even if they’re down they can cover late in the game.
