Brooklyn Nets vs Milwaukee Bucks Betting Analysis
The Bucks are the hottest team in the NBA right now, even with Giannis dealing with some injuries (wrist and knee) as they’ve won 14 straight, and they’ll be in Brooklyn tonight to face the Nets who are in limbo right now as they are putting together the pieces after the Kyrie/Durant trades.
The motivation for the Nets is a big question as I’m not sure if winning is their main goal or if figuring out what to do with all these players they have is their focus. Regardless, it’s a big ask of Brooklyn to break the Bucks winning streak.
Nets In No-Man’s Land
Brooklyn is in rebuild mode, but they do have some good individual pieces, but they’re trying to figure out who goes where, and they’re probably looking at who they’re going to keep moving forward.
They are 1-4 straight up and 2-3 ATS their last five games and to show their lack of identity they have had four different players lead them in scoring the last four games, and four different players leading them in rebounding the last four games.
They’re defense was alarmingly bad the last two games as they gave up 131 and 129 to Chicago and Atlanta.
It is interesting that those two games and the 18 point loss were on the road, where their lone win was at home, and they played Philly to a three points game at home on the 11th so maybe this team is going to be a play-on when they’re at home, and play-against on the road.
Bucks In Charge
The Bucks seem to be peaking and they are cementing themselves as the best team in the league when healthy. Giannis looks like he’ll play tonight, so they’ll have their full squad tonight.
Giannis gets the headlines for Milwaukee, but don’t overlook how good Jrue Holiday has been recently. He’s had 24 and 33 in the two games post-all star break and his scoring has gone up from 20.3 per game in January to 21.8 in February.
Milwaukee is 6-3-1 ATS their last 10, and 7-3 ATS their last 10 road games and they are 3-7 O/U their last 10 as this is a great defensive team when healthy.
Brooklyn Nets vs Milwaukee Bucks Expert Player Props
I’m not ready to fade Brooklyn tonight as their recent home performances give me pause, but there are a couple of props I like in this game.
Nic Claxton Under 21.5 PRA
He’s gone under this total in every game since the Durant trade, he’s down in minutes, shot attempts, rebounds, etc.
He’s had 13, 18, 13, 16 and 20 PRA his last five games, and it’s a brutal matchup tonight against Milwaukee as Giannis will be playing and that means he will have Lopez, Giannis and Portis to deal with.
He’s just not a focal point of the offense, he’s had 8 or fewer points in three straight games, take the under.
Jrue Holiday Over 18.5 points
Guards have absolutely torched the Nets the last two games as Trae Young and Dejounte Murray combined for 62 points and Zach Lavine went for 32.
Holiday has soared over this total in both games since the all-star game, and he’s gone over in 4 out of 5 games.
Giannis in the lineup is a concern for this prop, but if Milwaukee has a chance to rest him at all tonight they will, and that should open up more opportunities for Holiday.
