Brooklyn Nets vs Washington Wizards Analysis

The Wizards and Nets close out the first half of their seasons against each other and Brooklyn is coming in with tons of confidence as they’ve won two in a row with their new look, and Washington is dealing with life without Beal going 2-2 their last four.

The books like the Nets tonight as they are -4.5 favorites with a total of 215.5. Let’s take a look and see if a play emerges for us tonight.

Who Needs a Big 3 in Brooklyn?

Of course I’m not saying this team is better off without three superstars, but they’ve won two in a row after the big comeback victory against the Knicks, but the Knicks have been blowing games to everyone and the game before they beat Sacramento who put up a measly 85 points.

It’s tough to take away a lot from these two games, but Drummond has been a huge contributor on the boards, and Seth Curry has provided some much needed shooting.

Cam Thomas was huge in the 4th quarter last night, and the confidence level has to be sky high going into this game.

They’ve scored 111 and 109 these two games, and Washington isn’t exactly a defensive juggernaut so I would expect the Nets to get to around 110 point tonight again.

The Beal-less Wizards

The Wizards have beaten the Pistons and Nets and lost to the Kings and Pacers in the last four so it’s tough to figure this team out, but Kyle Kuzma has assumed the role of leader right now as he’s coming off of big games scoring and rebounding.

KCP had a big game last night, but outside of that the cupboard is pretty bare. They’re 1-3-1 ATS their last five games, and they just don’t have any firepower on offense or defense.

Kuzma will have to have another big game in order for them to have a chance to win, and he easily could have a big game as Brooklyn doesn’t have a great defender for him, but with center Thomas Bryant on a minutes restriction it’s going to leave the interior wide open for Drummond and others.

Brooklyn Nets vs Washington Wizards Prediction

I’ll take the over here. Brooklyn has gotten to 109 and 111 the last two games and Washington has scored 108 or more in three out of four, and I see both teams with some mismatches as Kuzma should flourish, and on the other side Curry and Drummond should be able to exploit good matchups.

Prediction: Over 215.5
