Milwaukee Bucks vs Philadelphia 76ers Analysis

The Philadelphia 76ers travel to Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee for TNT Thursday night showdown with the Bucks. On Tuesday night, the Bucks pulled away late in the 4th quarter for a 128-119 home victory over the Indiana Pacers.

Meanwhile, the 76ers were busy getting completely embarrassed in a 135-87 home loss against the Boston Celtics.

The Milwaukee Bucks won the lone head-to-head meeting, however the 76ers were extremely short-handed without Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris and Seth Curry.

76ers Coming Off Humiliating Loss

The short-handed Philadelphia 76ers were steam rolled by the Boston Celtics as they wait for James Harden to make his on court debut.

It was the 76ers fourth loss in seven games, dropping their record to 34-23. As usual, Joel Embiid led his team with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

Tyrese Maxey chipped in with 11 points while no other player scored into the double digits. Philadelphia will once again be without James Harden, but he is expected to be a full go after the All-Star break.

Other than Harden the 76ers have a clean injury report. The 76ers rank poorly on offense as they rank 21st with just 107.2 points a game. On defense they rank 7th with 105.7 points allowed per game.

Giannis Scores 50 in Bucks Victory

The Milwaukee Bucks kept rolling with a victory over the Indiana Pacers. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a monster game with 50 points and 14 rebounds on 17 of 21 shooting.

The Bucks have now won 9 of their last 13 games, improving their record to 36-23. The Bucks had a hot hand as they shot 55% from the field and 10 for 29 from beyond the arc. George Hill remains out with a neck injury, while Grayson Allen and Wesley Matthews are both questionable for Thursday night’s game.

The Bucks rank 6th in scoring with over 113 points a game and 16th in scoring defense with 109.6 points allowed per game to their opponents.

Milwaukee Bucks vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction

The Milwaukee Bucks are 6 point home favorites with a 223.5 over/under. This is critical matchup with only one game separating these teams in the log jam that is the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The 76ers will surely want to come out firing after being crushed by the Celtics.

However, this is just a bad spot as the Bucks will come into this game with plenty of confidence, especially Giannis Antetokounmpo who is coming off a 50 point effort. Philadelphia is essentially short-handed without Harden and the players they shipped away to acquire him.

The Bucks have had the 76ers number, as they are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings. I’m expecting the Bucks to be at full strength as this is the last game before the break.

Outside of Joel Embiid the 76ers don’t have the firepower to keep up, it’s Milwaukee or nothing in this one.

Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks -6.5
