Wizards vs Bulls Analysis

The Chicago Bulls travel to Capital One Arena in Washington for an Eastern Conference clash with the Wizards on Tuesday night. The Wizards beat a short-handed Golden State Warriors team 123-115 at home on Sunday. The Bulls will be playing the second game of a back-to-back after losing 109-104 in New York against the Knicks yesterday.

Chicago will be looking for a three game regular season series sweep against the Wiz after beating them 130-122 at home and 120-119 in Washington.

Wizards Cling to Slim Playoff Hopes

Don’t look now but the Washington Wizards have won two-straight games. They currently still have a mathematical shot at the play-in tournament with 5.5 games separating them and the 10th-place Atlanta Hawks.

A victory over the Warriors in their last game bumped their record up to 32-42. Corey Kispert led the Wiz with 25 points, while Kristaps Porzingis scored 23.

The Wiz have dealt with injuries to their top players like Bradley Beal and Kyle Kuzma all season long. However no other players are currently listed on the current injury report.

Washington has been below average in most statistical categories this season. That remains true as they rank 22nd in scoring and 23rd in scoring defense over their last ten games.

Can The Bulls Bounce Back?

The Chicago Bulls’ record stands at 43-32 after losing to the Knicks last night. They currently occupy the 5th seed, tied with the 6th seeded Toronto Raptors. Demar Derozan dropped 37 points in the loss, while Nikola Vucevic had a 16 point 13 rebound double double.

After looking like they would contend for the top seed in the Conference, they have been stuck in a major slide, losing 11 of their last 14 games. Lonzo Ball remains out with injury, while Alex Caruso and Patrick Williams have returned to help the Bulls cause.

On the season Chicago was just outside the top ten in scoring, but over the last ten games they rank 28th with only 105 points per game. Their defense has been somewhat consistent as they are middle of the pack on the season and over their last ten games.

Wizards vs Bulls Prediction

The Chicago Bulls are 3.5-point road favorites with a total of 223 points. The Bulls have been in poor recent form, but they are desperate for a victory here. Chicago has been horrendous against playoff teams, but have feasted on lesser teams like Wiz.

This line is almost disrespectful to Bulls based on the difference in talent that will be on the floor tonight. The Bulls are also the healthier team. They need this win and shouldn’t have much of a problem covering four points.

Official Play: Chicago Bulls -3.5
