Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano Card Predictions
Mike Perry -205 vs Nate Diaz +170
Have to side with Perry here. He’s been knocking people out in BKFC, while Nate is 41, looks stiff, and hasn’t fought professionally in a while.
Diaz would need to make this ugly and get it to the ground, but it’s hard to trust his conditioning and activity level at this stage. Perry should be too physical and dangerous on the feet. Perry is the pick.
Francis Ngannou -1350 vs Philipe Lins +800
Ngannou’s only recent MMA fight was an easy takedown and ground-and-pound win, but Lins can wrestle and clinch a bit.
Lins isn’t a great fighter, but he could potentially slow the pace down and avoid getting finished immediately. Ngannou should dominate, but over 1.5 rounds at plus money is an interesting sprinkle.
Robelis Despaigne -345 vs Junior Dos Santos +275
Despaigne has some of the worst takedown defense you’ll ever see, but Dos Santos is 42 and completely worn down physically.
He’s been doing low-level bare-knuckle fights against older competition and doesn’t look like the same athlete anymore.
On the feet, Despaigne can end this instantly with one punch or kick. Despaigne by KO or under 1.5 rounds is the play.
Ronda Rousey -625 vs Gina Carano +455
Rousey is going to win, but I wonder if this isn’t a quick fight because she may take it a little easy on Carano.
Carano is much older and has already said she feels like she won just by getting back into fight shape. She’ll probably get taken down — the key is just surviving and avoiding the submission.
Rousey hasn’t fought MMA in a long time either. The promotion probably doesn’t want a 30-second armbar in the main event, so over 1.5 rounds at plus money is worth a sprinkle.
