BKFC Uruguay Predictions

Guido Canetti -200 vs Emiliano Nielli +150

Canetti is now 46 years old, and the athleticism just isn’t what it once was. That said, I still think he’s the better pure striker in this matchup.

Nielli isn’t exactly young either at 38, and in his most recent MMA fight he relied heavily on wrestling and takedowns, so it’s hard to know what his boxing will look like in a bare-knuckle setting.

This fight feels like it’s happening largely because Nielli is fighting in front of a home crowd in Uruguay. I’ll lean toward the underdog simply because Canetti has become so slow at this stage of his career.

Javier Torres -250 vs Luis Jimenez +170

Torres is 41 years old and spent time competing in Bellator earlier in his career. He picked up a couple of MMA wins over lower-level opponents last December, so there’s still a little bit left in the tank.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find much of anything on Luis Jimenez. Without tape or meaningful information, it’s impossible to make a confident read on this fight. I’ll wait until the faceoffs and weigh-ins to see if we learn anything before making a final decision.

Marilyn Contin +120 vs Gizela Luna -160

There isn’t much recent footage available on either fighter, but from what I could find, Contin looks sharper technically. She keeps a better defensive guard, throws cleaner punches, and appears to be the more polished boxer.

Luna has good length, but most of her wins have come against very low-level competition. Whenever she’s stepped up against decent opposition, she’s struggled. I think Contin is the more powerful and more complete fighter, making her my pick at plus money.

Nicolas Jara -120 vs Ramon Mascarena Jr. -120

I’ll lean toward Jara, but this is one of the toughest fights on the card to handicap.

Both men are making their BKFC debuts, so there are plenty of unknowns. From the footage available, Jara appears to have faced stronger competition, carries a little more power, and looks slightly more sound defensively. It’s far from a confident pick, but Jara gets the lean.

Nicolas Mujica +125 vs Gonzalo Arredondo -165

This is another difficult fight to evaluate. Arredondo has a handful of Muay Thai bouts on record, but they’re spread out over 2012, 2019, and 2025, making it difficult to judge where he is now.

Mujica has very little footage available as well. I found one fight from roughly ten years ago on YouTube, but it’s hard to draw many conclusions from it.

Both appear to be mid-level Muay Thai fighters, and I don’t have enough information to make a strong pick.

Franco Perochena +170 vs Harel Nicodella -250

I couldn’t find anything meaningful on Perochena through Tapology or YouTube, so there’s very little to analyze on his side.

Nicodella, on the other hand, picked up a bare-knuckle win back in March. He fought aggressively, threw with bad intentions, showed no hesitation walking forward, and proved he could take shots before eventually earning the knockout.

Based on the available information, Nicodella is the easy pick.

Giuliana Cosnard -145 vs Jacqueline Ayala +105

These two actually fought in a kickboxing match about six years ago. It was competitive but not particularly high-level, with Cosnard getting the victory.

I also like that Cosnard has already gained some bare-knuckle experience, winning a decision back in March. She moved well, showed legitimate power, and looked comfortable adapting to the ruleset.

Ayala hasn’t been especially active. She owns a bare-knuckle win, but she tends to move stiffly and rarely establishes her jab. Cosnard has clearly improved since their first meeting, making her one of the easier picks on the card.

Nicolas Acevedo -120 vs Victor Borda -120

Borda comes from an MMA background but hasn’t fought in nearly four years. He wasn’t competing at a particularly high level, and in his last appearance he looked slow and struggled with his cardio.

Acevedo is difficult to evaluate because there’s very little footage available. He appears undersized and doesn’t seem to carry much power, but there’s simply not enough information to build a confident case. This is a pass for me. I can’t confidently pick a winner.

Joel Dorado -200 vs Gonzalo Barrera +150

Dorado looked outstanding in his last appearance, absolutely dominating his opponent in a modified-rules boxing match. He was aggressive, landed clean shots throughout, and looked like the much better athlete.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find enough information on Barrera to make a meaningful comparison. Without tape or recent fights to evaluate, it’s difficult to know what he’ll bring to the table. Based on the information available, Dorado deserves to be the favorite and would be my lean.

BKFC Uruguay Main Event: Gaston Reyno vs Josh Krejci

Krejci is simply not UFC or BKFC main event caliber from what I’ve seen. His physique isn’t impressive, his footwork is poor, and he constantly finds himself off balance. He’s competed in both MMA and bare-knuckle boxing without much success, so it’s hard to understand why he’s in this spot.

Reyno isn’t a flawless fighter, but he should dominate this matchup. He can get a little overconfident at times and his defense isn’t perfect, but he’s much faster, controls the pace far better, and has cleaner offensive weapons. Reyno is the clear pick.
