Orioles starter Tyler Wells has already given up five home runs to Yankees batters this season alone as he takes the mound tonight against them once again.
Gleyber Torres has hit two of those five home runs on the season going 4-16 against Wells in his career. The 19 total home runs given up by Wells this season is tied for 3rd in the MLB with 13 of them coming against right-handed hitting.
His road ERA sits at 4.17 compared to a. 2.57 home ERA with Torres batting .264 against righties compared to just .179 against lefties. Torres sports a higher batting average on the road than at home but eight of his 12 home runs have come at Yankee Stadium.
In six games against Baltimore so far this season Torres is batting .333 as the Yankees continue to search for their offensive identity with Aaron Judge out of the lineup.
Look for Torres to hit a home run tonight at +350 with other Yankees batters who can potentially hit a home run tonight include Giancarlo Stanton (+310) and Anthony Rizzo (+390).
Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Joc Pederson (+370)
Despite Bryan Woo’s improvements over his last two starts, he’s still struggling mightily against left handed hitting on the season.
He allows lefties to bat .412 with a .794 slugging percentage with all three home runs given up to left handed hitting as well in 22 less at-bats than righties faced on the season. This sets up nicely for Joc Pederson who is no stranger to belting home runs although he only has eight this season.
Pederson has hit all eight of those home runs against righties and four of eight at home while batting 87 points better at Oracle Park.
His overall average sits at .252 but he had a nice June batting .290 with three home runs. Now Pederson may not be the player who hit 36 home runs for the Dodgers back in 2019 but he still had 23 last season in 134 games.
Look for Pederson to take advantage of Woo’s struggles against left-handed hitting and hit a home run at +370 with other lefties who could hit a home run for the Giants tonight include Blake Sabol (+630) and Brandon Crawford (+800).
