NRFI Prediction 1: Cubs vs Brewers (-115)

Drew Smyly struggled in June posting a 5.81 ERA for the month but he gets the Brewers today in which current Milwaukee batters are only 3-31 collectively against Smyly all-time.

Smyly isn’t the only lefty that Milwaukee struggles against on offense as the team is dead last in batting average against left-handed pitching on the season at just .215.

Smyly has held opponents scoreless in the first in 12 of his 16 starts on the season going up against Julio Teheran getting the start for the Brewers today. He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in all seven of his starts and posts a 1.57 home ERA on the season.

The Brewers as a team haven’t allowed a first inning run in 11 straight games with the Cubs playing to a NRFI in four of their previous five games.

The first series these two met this season a NRFI was played to in two of three games. Play on a NRFI in today’s Cubs vs Brewers game at -115 with first pitch at 2:10pm ET.

NRFI Prediction 2: Royals vs Twins (-105)

Going with the theme of struggling offenses against left-handed pitching, we’re going with a NRFI in tonight’s Royals vs Twins matchup.

Kansas City sends lefty Austin Cox to the mound in which the Twins have the second worst batting average against lefties on the season among all MLB teams at just .218.

Sure Cox struggled his last time out against Cleveland allowing four earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched but in the six appearances before that he held the opposition scoreless. Joe Ryan gets the start for Minnesota not allowing a first inning run in 13 of his 16 starts on the season.

As a team the Royals post the fourth worst batting average against righties this season at just .228 as the last time Ryan pitched against the Royals back on April 2 he allowed just one run in six innings. Play on a Royals vs Twins NRFI with first pitch at 8:10pm ET and odds listed at -105.
