NRFI Prediction 1: Astros vs Orioles (-122)

Throwing a no-hitter his last time out, Framber Valdez takes the mound on the road against the Orioles and Grayson Rodriguez who has vastly impaired since being called back up by Baltimore in July.

Valdez hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 19 of his 21 starts including 15 straight! Looking at Rodriguez’s overall numbers you may think he’s more susceptible than not to allowing a first inning run but he hasn’t given one up in 10 of his 14 starts including seven straight.

This game should have a playoff like feel in which we see pitchers come out of the gates strong and the defense clamping down although these are two of the top ten run scoring teams in the league.

The Orioles have played to a NRFI in four of their past five games with the Astros playing to one in four of their last seven. Play on a Astros vs Orioles NRFI tonight at -122 with first pitch at 7:05pm ET.

NRFI Prediction 2: Yankees vs White Sox (-120)

White Sox starter Touki Toussaint hasn’t allowed a first inning run in six straight starts heading into the second game of their series in which we cashed on a NRFI in the first game last night.

Clarke Schmidt starts for the Yankees not allowing a first inning run in 16 of 22 starts including three straight. The White Sox are the fifth worst first inning scoring team in the MLB with the Yankees sitting in the bottom half as well.

As far as team batting average goes the Yankees are second worst in the MLB with the White Sox sitting eighth worst.

These two teams are arguably two of the most disappointing in the American League this season and we expect offensive struggles to continue heading into the start of tonight’s matchup. Play on a Yankees vs White Sox NRFI at -120 with first pitch set for 8:10pm ET.
