Zac Gallen definitely isn’t the pitcher we’ve been used to seeing in years past, but he’s been putting it together as of late as the Diamondbacks host the Rangers tonight.

The Diamondbacks starter posted a 2.57 ERA in August which consisted of six starts. Opposing Rangers batters have hit just .165 against Gallen all-time with a .268 slugging percentage.

He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 19 of 28 starts this season including three straight. Texas sends Jack Leiter to the mound not allowing an earned run in 19 of 24 starts while posting a 2.76 ERA in six August starts.

The Diamondbacks rank bottom ten across the MLB in team batting average in the last week and are top five in most strikeouts in the last 15 days.

The Rangers rank top five in the MLB in NRFI results this season with these two playing to a NRFI last night. Play on a Rangers vs Diamondbacks NRFI to occur tonight with odds listed at -120.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: New York Yankees vs Houston Astros (-115)

We hit on a Yankees vs Astros NRFI yesterday and we’re going to target another NRFI in this series tonight as Will Warren goes up against Jason Alexander.

Sure, Warren has had his struggles this season but as of late he’s been solid posting a 2.84 ERA in five August starts.

He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 23 of 28 starts this season including eight straight with the Astros failing to score in the first in five straight.

Warren has been worse on the road than at home this season, but Houston has failed to score in the first inning 76% of their home games.

Alexander has been flawless in the first inning for Houston this season not allowing a first inning run in all eight of his starts.

Opposing Yankees batters are just 3-26 all-time against Alexander with the Astros starter posting a 2.17 ERA in five August starts including one against this Yankees team going six innings while allowing just one hit.
