He sports a 2.19 road ERA this season and actually already has two starts against Washington under his belt this season going 11.2 innings while allowing just two earned runs.

Brad Lord takes the mound for Washington against a Mets team that has failed to score in the first inning in 77% of their road games this season.

Lord hasn’t allowed a first inning run in nine of 11 starts on the season with current Mets batters collectively hitting just .214 against him lifetime.

The Mets currently sit second in NRFI results this season so play on a Mets vs Nationals NRFI to occur tonight with odds listed at -115.

NRFI Best Bet Today #2: San Francisco Giants vs San Diego Padres (-120)

NL West rivals Giants and Padres play the third game of their four-game series tonight in San Diego with JP Sears making his second start as a member of the Padres.

He was briefly sent down to the minors which usually helps a pitcher get back into form, but Sears has been near flawless in the first inning when he pitches this season.

He hasn’t allowed a first inning run in 21 of 23 total starts this season with the Giants going just 2-8 in their last ten games while averaging just 2.4 runs per game during that stretch.

Righty Landen Roupp takes the mound for the Giants not allowing a first inning run in 16 of 21 starts this season including five straight.

Current Padres batters are slugging just .286 against Roupp all-time with the Padres failing to score in the first inning in 75% of home games this season.
