2025 3M Open Course Preview – TPC Twin Cities

The 2025 3M Open returns to TPC Twin Cities near Minneapolis, running from July 24–27. This track is a Par 71 layout stretching around 7,428 yards, blending wide, tree-lined fairways with strategically placed bunkers and water hazards.

The design is a classic balance of length and  precision, rewarding both power off the tee and smart shot-making into its receptive greens.

TPC Twin Cities sets up as a fair but compelling test. With generous landing areas, players can  challenge tight lines off the tee, though errant shots face tricky lies in the rough or behind tree cover.

The greens are medium-sized, featuring subtle breaks and push-up tiers that require careful reading and control, especially on approach.

Water comes into play on several holes, notably around the par-4s 5 and 13, forcing players to weigh risk versus reward.

Scoring conditions often tilt toward the low side, with winning totals often falling around –15 to  –18. Success here hinges on tee-to-green consistency, including hitting fairways and greens in regulation.

While birdie chances abound, especially on the back nine with reachable par-4s and a  couple of inviting par-5s, tournaments are often decided by short-game play and clutch putting.

Expect the winner to balance aggression with calm execution, especially as the field battles Minnesota’s summer heat and changing wind conditions.

2025 3M Open 18th Hole Rating

Really good finish hole as I don’t like Par 5’s as final holes, but this one sets up great. Water is on the right, very close to the fairway so the rough on the left will get plenty of action as players will be playing it safe.

The hole doglegs to the right so the approach comes in sideways to the  green, so the green is long horizontally, but not long vertically to players so second shots coming into the green brings water short, sand left, and rough deep all into play. Solid hole that can create drama for sure on Sunday.

18th Hole Rating: 6.8 (Par 5, 596 Yards)

2025 3M Open: Players That Can Trip You Up

Tony Finau has a strong course history with three straight Top 10s here, but his recent form is a major red flag.

He’s finished outside the Top 30 in four straight starts and has just one Top 10 all season. His driver has been off, losing -0.32 strokes off the tee, and his putting has been flat— barely gaining anything on the greens.

While the course history is tempting, his game just isn’t sharp right now. He’s a risky play at best and a fade at worst.

Davis Thompson is being priced like a Top 8 player this week, but the data says otherwise. He ranks outside the Top 30 in total strokes gained in this field over the last 30 days, and his best finish all year is a single 10th place.

His putter has been a problem too, losing -0.22 strokes over  the last 3 weeks—an issue on a course that rewards hot putters. At this price, you’re banking on  upside that hasn’t shown up all season. He’s a clear fade for us.

Wyndham Clark may be getting attention after a 4th-place finish at The Open Championship, but this feels like a clear letdown spot.

It was his best finish of the year, and now he’s showing up at a weak-field event with questionable motivation just days removed from a major grind.

Statistically, he’s outside the Top 25 in total strokes gained in this field, yet he’s priced like a Top 5 contender—that just doesn’t add up. The price doesn’t match the profile, and it’s an easy fade in this spot.

3M Open DraftKings Darlings

Hayden Springer ($7,000) is quietly one of the most well-rounded value plays this week. He’s made seven straight cuts and is gaining strokes both off the tee and with the putter—two key  areas that set up well for this course.

He also made the cut here in his only appearance last year, adding a bit of course comfort to the profile. With his current form and confidence, Springer looks like a strong bet to contend in this field.

Beau Hossler ($7,100) is trending in all the right ways heading into this week. He’s made the cut in seven straight tournaments and his key metrics—putting, tee-to-green, and off-the-tee— have all taken a big step forward over the last two months.

While his course history isn’t anything special, recent form outweighs that in a weak field like this. At $7,100, he offers a great blend of safety and upside for both DFS and betting markets.

Kevin Roy ($7,300) continues to be one of the most consistent performers in this price range. He’s made the cut in 9 of his last 10 starts and is gaining strokes in every major category—off  the tee, approach, around the green, and putting—over the last 3 months.

That kind of all-around form is rare in a field like this, especially at this salary. He’s playing with confidence and has real upside to crack the top 20.

Rest Of Lineup: Hayden Springer $7,000, Beau Hossler $7100, Kevin Roy $7300, Michael  Thorbjornsen $8500, Rickie Fowler $9500, Sam Burns $10500
