PFL Brussels Predictions

Taylor Lapilus -750 vs Jake Hadley +525

Hadley has looked rough for a while now. The volume is low, the power isn’t there, and outside of a win over a lower-level opponent in his PFL debut, he’s struggled badly. Alves pieced him  up in his last fight, and stylistically this is another difficult matchup for him.

Lapilus is 10-1 over his last 11 fights, with the lone loss coming against Farid Basharat, who is a legitimate UFC-level fighter. Lapilus can sometimes fight at a slower pace and make fights ugly,  but he’s simply the cleaner striker and more technically sound fighter here. Hadley likely needs  takedowns to win, and I’m not convinced he gets them consistently enough.

Lapilus by decision is the most likely outcome.

Boris Atangana -800 vs Jared Gooden +500

Gooden is in serious trouble here. After getting cut from the UFC, he followed that up with a loss  to a grappler who only had three professional MMA fights. At this point, it’s hard to identify what his clear path to victory is against someone like Atangana.

Boris fights with nonstop pressure, mixes in strikes and takedowns constantly, and forces opponents into ugly fights. He can be a little reckless defensively and there are moments where  he’s open to counters, but is Gooden really the guy who’s going to stand in the pocket, absorb  that pressure, and win a firefight? Probably not.

Boris by finish is the look.

Marcirley Alves -130 vs Naoki Inoue +100

This should be a very competitive fight. Both guys have somewhat similar styles — lower  volume, patient striking, and neither tends to push a wild pace. It may not be the most action heavy fight on the card, but it should be close throughout.

Inoue is long and rangy, and he does a good job landing from the outside while managing distance. Alves probably carries more power and may have the bigger moments in exchanges, which could end up mattering with the judges in a close fight.

This feels like a fight that likely goes the distance, and I’ll lean Alves based on the stronger impact shots.

Asael Adjoudj -470 vs Keisuke Sasu +360

This could easily be the upset spot on the main card. The odds feel inflated considering Sasu is a legitimate threat with his takedowns and submission game. He’s physically strong, aggressive  with the wrestling, and capable of creating bad scrambles.

Adjoudj is the cleaner striker and probably the more polished overall fighter on the feet, but he’s fought a pretty weak schedule and stands very upright with a karate-style stance that could leave openings for level changes. Sasu can absolutely get this fight to the mat and create problems.

Adjoudj deserves to be favored, but these odds feel too wide. Sasu has real live-dog potential here.

PFL Brussels Main Event: Patrick Habirora -1800 v Benson Henderson +1000

Obvious pick is Habirora, he should absolutely run through Henderson here. He’s undefeated, explosive, fast, powerful, and PFL clearly views him as a future star. This feels like a showcase  matchup designed to build his profile and get him a highlight finish.

Henderson is 42 years old and has barely been active in real MMA competition. He hasn’t fought an MMA bout since 2022, and since then he’s mostly been coaching while taking exhibition  boxing and grappling matches — and losing those. The speed, athleticism, and physicality gap  here is massive.

If books post a first-round KO/TKO prop, that’s the angle worth targeting. Habirora should overwhelm him early.
