(555) Phoenix Suns at (556) Los Angeles Clippers
10:40pm EDT - Oct 24/2025

THE PLAY: Los Angeles Clippers -10.5 (-113)

(555) Phoenix Suns at (556) Los Angeles Clippers

Los Angeles Clippers -10.5 (-113)

Phoenix scraped out a comeback win in their season opener at Sacramento after trailing by 20 in the fourth and 17 at halftime. That resilience is encouraging, but historical context matters: teams coming off a home win where they trailed by 8+ at halftime and now listed as underdogs of +7 or more go 60-90-6 ATS (40%), a clear warning sign for backing big dogs in that spot.

LA Clippers, meanwhile, looked flat in their opener — a 129-108 loss at Utah as 9.5-point favorites — exposing defensive lapses (55.2% opponent shooting) and prompting questions about buy-in to Tyron Lue’s defensive standards. Still, the Clippers are a strong home ATS team (29-14-1 last season) and were especially sharp in bounce-back spots: 10-3-1 ATS off a straight-up loss. Teams that lose their season opener as as away favorite are 10-3 ATS in game #2 since 1997.

(177) San Diego State at (178) Fresno State
3:30pm EDT - Oct 25/2025

THE PLAY: Fresno State +3.0 (-115)

(177) San Diego State at (178) Fresno State

Fresno State +3.0 (-115)

Fresno State (71st offense, 25th defense) hosts San Diego State (9th defense, 78th offense), but the raw rankings mask context. SDSU’s schedule has been one of the weakest in the country (No. 133), and their defensive numbers are inflated against easier opponents. The Aztecs also show a stark home/road split: about 438 yards per game at home vs. just 297 on the road.

Fresno’s two losses came at Kansas and a one-possession defeat at Colorado State where they suffered a -4 turnover margin; that turnover swing is an outlier and not a consistent indicator of how the Bulldogs perform otherwise. Fresno generally moves the ball well and fields a stout defense that should be able to limit SDSU’s home advantages.

System note: teams that lost as favorites with a -3 or worse turnover margin while still holding a yardage edge, and are now listed between pick’em and -7, have historically gone 26-11 (70.3%). That profile fits Fresno this week and supports backing the Bulldogs.

MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW HIM @JMSportsCLE

Yet another handicapper from the Cleveland area following Marc Lawrence, Phil Steele, Ralph Michaels, Ed Meyer, and Bryan Leonard. In fact, Jeff's hunger for handicapping began at a young age, being surrounded by parents who made sports betting a daily routine. Jeff then worked for both North Coast Sports and Phil Steele Publications, learning the intricacies of sports betting and becoming a profitable handicapper. Throughout his college years, Jeff's mathematical and analytical prowess helped him develop a betting strategy that turned sports betting into a profitable venture.

Jeff now joins the Sports Memo Marketplace after selling picks on several small sites. Jeff handicaps the traditional sports of NFL, CFB, the NBA, College Basketball, and MLB while showing real prowess in the WNBA. He has dominated the teaser market and has spent a lot of his focus on sides. While also adding in a share of props (especially NFL & MLB), as well as totals.
