Despite a 2-1 winning score for Alaves in their opener, it took until stoppage time to find that 2nd goal in what was otherwise a lackluster match between the two sides. The chances created between both were not all that great, however both teams did an excellent job of converting their chances as evidenced by their combined 3.56 xGOT, better than 1.40 more than the xG created by both sides. Alaves did a very good job of limiting Levante allowing just nine touches in their box to the visitors and only seven total shots.
While now on the road at Betis, I don't expect as low of numbers, truth is Alaves play a slow paced physical style that generally doesn't lead to many chances either way.
Meanwhile Betis played out a 1-1 draw at Elche in which they only allowed six shots to the hosts. Elche is certainly not a great side, but these are two defenses and sides that play similarly which will likely lead to a stalemate throughout much of the match.
