Expert WNBA Props for Wednesday: Courtney Williams, Lynx OVER 11.5 Points (-130)

Courtney Williams appears to be fully healthy now and she’s covered this line in 11 of 16 games when playing 22+ minutes while averaging 14.8 points per game.

Williams ranks 2nd in usage on the Minnesota Lynx behind Napheesa Collier and she’s averaging 13.4 field goal attempts in her last 10 games.

The Phoenix Mercury allow the 4th most points in the mid-range and that’s where Williams takes 60% of her shots so they fit her profile perfectly.

She has failed to cover this line in two head-to-head games against Phoenix, but she scored 11 in a horrible 5-18 shooting performance, and she scored only 6 in a game where both Kayla McBride and Natisha Heideman both cleared this number.

The Mercury rank 7th in points allowed on the season but they have allowed the 4th most during the last five games.

Recent guards have cleared this line against Phoenix including JJ Quinerly (18), Paige Bueckers (23), Jackie Young (15), Natahsa Cloud (14) and Ariel Atkins (13). Let’s look for Williams to finally take advantage of this matchup against the Mercury.

Expert WNBA Props for Wednesday: Ariel Atkins, Sky OVER 3.5 Assists (-115)

Ariel Atkins has only covered this line in 9 of 18 games this season but she has gone over this number in 7 of 11 games since Courtney Vandersloot got injured while averaging 4 assists per game.

That includes yesterday’s game against the Washington Mystics where Atkins logged 5 assists across 35 minutes of play. The Dallas Wings have allowed the MOST assists overall this season (21.8/game) including the 3rd most to opposing guards.

Recently we have seen Brittney Sykes log 4 & 5 assists and Marina Mabry log 6 assists against the Wings.

Atkins has also thrived at home where she’s covered this line in three straight games and 67% of her games on the season. She’s already logged 6 and 3 assists in two games against Dallas this season and Vandersloot played in both of those games.

The Sky are playing the second leg of a back-to-back, but the spread is only -1 with a total set at 166.5 so we should see competitive and high scoring game that leads to additional assist opportunities.
