Girona vs Celta Vigo | Friday October 27 | 3:00pm ET

Girona -125 | Celta Vigo +325 | Draw +295

Girona vs Celta Vigo La Liga Prediction

Girona continued their assault at the top of the LaLiga standings last week with a pulverizing 5-2 performance against bottom-of-the-table Almeria at home.

Joint-3rd LaLiga top goalscorer Artem Dovbyk netted a brace in that game as the Blanquivermells have continued to outshine every other team in front of goals this season, including their more illustrious rivals.

Real Madrid and Barcelona have each netted 21 goals and 22 goals respectively this year, with only Atletico matching Girona on a goal-per-game basis at 24.

Facing Girona on Friday is a Celta Vigo team currently mired in the relegation zone, posting just one win on the season so far.

Los Celestes came off a humiliating 3-0 loss at home against Atletico Madrid last week, and that lack of cutting edge in attack has been Celta Vigo’s main issue all season.

The road team has averaged just one solitary goal per game in the league this year, and that’s simply not going to get it done against a Girona side on Friday that owns the strongest offensive scoring record in the entire league.

The Over 2.5 goals has cashed in five of Girona’s last six games overall, while it’s also cashed in all of Celta Vigo’s last three matchups as well. We’re expecting this to be no different on Friday and we’ll opt for the Girona Team Total Over 1.5 goals as our play in this one.

La Liga Prediction: Girona Team Total Over 1.5 (-135)

Barcelona vs Real Madrid | Saturday October 28 | 10:15am ET

Barcelona +145 | Real Madrid +170 | Draw +265

Barcelona vs Real Madrid La Liga Prediction

El Clasico is always an occasion in Spain as Real Madrid and Barcelona take to the field to meet in their bi-annual clash, which is arguably the biggest domestic clash in the whole of world football.

Barcelona has enjoyed the better of it across recent fixtures, winning three of their last four competitive encounters against Real Madrid, but have lost a bit of the home field edge they once enjoyed ahead of this one with construction work ongoing at Camp Nou.

Both teams couldn’t be more finely poised heading into this game either with just one point currently separating them at the top of the table, and both coming off important wins in Champions League in midweek also.

For Real Madrid, it’s been a bit of a role reversal from last season where they looked on at a Barcelona team boasting one of the best defensive units in the whole of Europe.

That’s been Los Blancos this year who have allowed just 0.7 GAPG to opponents all season, and they will be eager to maintain that defensive presence against their biggest rivals this weekend also.

For Barcelona, that defensive presence has been part and parcel under Xavi, with the Catalan giants shutting out four of their five opponents at home this year, and actually boasting a better overall defensive xGA rating than Real Madrid this season also.

Things are finely poised at the top of the table heading into this week’s clash, and a low-scoring draw could be on the cards as a result.

La Liga Prediction: Under 3 (-115)

Athletic Bilbao vs Valencia | Sunday October 29 | 1:30pm ET

Athletic Bilbao -145 | Valencia +420 | Draw +275

Athletic Bilbao vs Valencia La Liga Prediction

Two teams fighting to gain entry into that coveted top-five spot clash on Sunday as 6th-placed Athletic Bilbao hosts 8th-placed Valencia at the Estadio San Mames in Bilbao this weekend.

For Valencia, this season has started in a much different fashion from how last season ended, with Los Ches being involved in the relegation dogfight for the majority of last season’s campaign.

That hasn’t been the case so far this year however, with Valencia enjoying a bright start to their campaign overall, but one nonetheless where they need to be careful (they were 9th at this same time last year), as they’ve hit somewhat of a rocky patch recently, winning just one of their last five games overall.

They face an Athletic Bilbao team in this one that has traditionally always been fairly strong at home, with that fortress mentality serving them well this season also, going unbeaten in four straight games here with their only loss of the campaign so far coming against Real Madrid back at the start of the season.

However, Valencia definitely has the ability to cause issues for Bilbao in this game, sitting as they do with the league’s 5th best defensive xGA numbers this season, as well as allowing the fewest shots to opponents out of any team in LaLiga this year also.

Athletic Club Bilbao have certainly proven themselves hard to beat at home across multiple campaigns, but they’ve also been vulnerable to getting stonewalled themselves by opponents, as evidenced by their sub-par 36.8% win percentage at home last season.

Valencia are no doubt aware of the serious test that awaits them this weekend, and will likely use their strengths and set-up defensively for this game as a result. If that happens, the outright draw looks like a huge price here in a game that could well end up in a stalemate on Sunday.

La Liga Prediction: Draw (+275)
