Atalanta vs Napoli Prediction : The Betting Analysis
Undefeated Serie A league-leaders Napoli travel to Gewiss Stadium to take on the team hot on their heels in second place for the Scudetto this season in Atalanta.
Napoli is in imperious form right now in league action, remaining unbeaten in Serie A and ripping off eight-straight wins in league action heading into Saturday’s game.
However, they face a team in Atalanta this weekend who has lost just once themselves all year, and who have also kept the opposing team scoreless in four of their last five wins as well.
Atalanta has won three of their last four meetings against Napoli across all competitions, but that one loss did come the last time these two teams faced each other back in April in a 3-1 win for Napoli in this same venue.
Napoli’s Undefeated Streak Finally Ends
Napoli’s unbeaten run across all competitions stretched all the way back to May (W22, D5, L0) before dropping a 2-0 decision at Liverpool in Champions League action on Tuesday.
On the surface, that loss shouldn’t overly faze Napoli, as despite losing that game in midweek, the Italian side still finished top of the group overall. With just one loss away from home since January 1st, not many would bet against them returning to form in this one.
Atalanta’s Sub-Par Home Form Continues To Be A Major Issue
Not having any European commitments has certainly helped Gian Piero Gasperini’s men this season to accumulate the most points they’ve ever had at this stage of a league campaign.
However, serious issues remain for this team as they have won just three of their six home games in the league this year, and that follows on from last season where ‘La Dea’ won just four of 19 games inside Gewiss Stadium. So if Atalanta are going to have a shot at winning the title this year, it’s a problem that needs to fixed sooner rather than later.
