Wizards vs Spurs Analysis
The San Antonio Spurs will head to the Nation’s capital to take on the Wizards in both teams’ first game back from the All-Star break. Prior to the break, neither team was playing their best basketball. The Wizards are 4-6 in their last ten games while the Spurs went 5-5.
On the Glass
The Wizards are expected to be without their key trade deadline acquisition Kristaps Porzingis in Friday night’s matchup against the Spurs. Also, Thomas Bryant, one of the Wizard’s top rebounders, is out of this matchup.
The Wizards are 22nd in the league in points for 23rd in rebounding. In order to beat the Spurs, the Wizards have to attack the glass and score on a tough road defense. This does not seem like an easy matchup for Washington.
Second Half Run?
The Spurs clawed their way to a 5-5 finish over their last 10 games before the All-Star break. The Spurs are not expected to be missing any key players in this match-up. The last time these two teams met, the Spurs won handily. This is the final meeting between these two teams this season.
Wizards vs Spurs Prediction
I recommend taking the Spurs -3 in this contest. The Wizards do not have the firepower to compete with one of the league’s better road defenses.
The last time these two teams met, the Spurs out-rebounded the Wizards 51-40. With no Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis or Thomas Bryant, the Wizards have no answer for the offensive end or the glass. Take the Spurs to win by more than three points on Friday night.
