The Washington Wizards host the Atlanta Hawks on Friday in the third matchup between these two teams this season. The season series between these two games is tied 1-1 and both teams have covered spread one time.

The Wizards are coming off a home win vs the Pistons and are 4-6 in their last ten games. As a home underdog this season, the Wizards are 6-8 against the spread.

In order for the Wizards to win this game, they need to lock in on their three-point defense. The izards are 17th in the league in guarding the three-pointer and if they do not lock in tonight, it could be a long night for Washington.

In Trae We Trust

The Hawks will be on the second night of a back-to-back after a road win against the Bulls on Thursday. Trae Young has been on fire lately. He has scored 111 points in his last 3 games, while averaging ten assists per game and shooting 60% from the field. The Hawks are only 4-6 this season as road favorites.

Wizards vs Hawks Prediction

I do not love one side in this game. The Hawks are the better team, and it seems like the Wizards are prepping for the offseason, but the spread does not entice me to take a side.

However, something interesting to note is the line movement on the total for this game. The over/under opened at 221 points and since then has shot up to 223.5 points, touching 224 at some sports books. I agree with the move toward the over.

This game may provide a good live-betting opportunity if there is a slow start to the contest. If these teams get off to a slow start and the in-game total dips back down to the 221 level where it opened, I’ll be looking for a live-betting over. That may not be available if there’s a ton of scoring early in the contest, but if there’s a lull in scoring in the first quarter, I’d advise taking a look at the over.
