Sacramento Kings vs New York Knicks Analysis
On Monday night, the Sacramento Kings will host the New York Knicks at the Golden 1 Center. The Kings should enter this game a little fresher as they had off on Sunday, while the Knicks will be traveling in from Los Angeles after beating the Clippers on Sunday night.
That win snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Knicks. This is the second matchup between these two teams this season. The Knicks won and covered the first matchup at Madison Square Garden in late January.
Still Searching for Puzzle Pieces
The Kings have been struggling mightily since their trade deadline deal with Indiana that sent away two of the team’s core players. The Kings are 4-6 in their last ten games and have not played solid basketball since the deadline.
However, the Kings are still favorites at home tonight over a Knicks team that has been just as bad this season. The Kings are 6-6 this season as a home favorite but are only 1-3 as a favorite of 1-3.5 points at home this season.
Run-Down Randle?
The Knicks finally ended their seven-game losing streak by beating up on the undermanned Clippers Sunday night. Julius Randle was nowhere to be found and Knick’s head coach Tom Thibbidou continues to stay away from the young Knicks and push the veterans into ridiculously high minutes each and every game.
This season has been a borderline disaster for the Knicks, and while the playoffs are probably out of the question, the Knicks need to win for pride.
Sacramento Kings vs New York Knicks Prediction
Both of these two teams are weak. One of the storylines of this game will be how the Knicks have not had a point guard for decades, and D’Aaron Fox was selected by the Kings before the Knicks had a chance to snag him in the NBA Draft. I expect D’Aaron Fox to torch the Knicks tonight. At FanDuel, you can get +200 on Fox to score 30+ points, and I do think he’ll hit that mark.
But with that said, I still think the Knicks will win outright. Dating back to February 2021, New York is 12-4 against the spread on the second leg of a back-to-back. While Randall’s productivity has fallen off, RJ Barrett is really finding his stride. Grab the points with New York if you’d like, but I think they get the outright win.
