Portland Trail Blazers vs Golden State Warriors Betting Analysis

The Golden State Warriors visit the Moda Center for a Western Conference tilt with the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday night.

The Trail Blazers are coming off a demoralizing 127-108 home loss against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night. The Warriors won their second straight game 141-114 over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This will be the second of four games in a regular season series Golden State leads 1-0 after beating Portland 118-112 on December 30th. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 PM EST/7:00 PST from Portland, OR.

No Curry No Problem

The Golden State Warriors move to two games above .500 at 28-26 after crushing the Thunder by 27 points on Monday. The Warriors had a tremendous advantage in assists at 43-21.

Without Steph Curry, Klay Thompson took over the role of games leading scorer with 42 points on an efficient 15-21 from the field and otherworldly 12-16 from beyond the arc.

Jordan Poole recorded a 21 point, 12 assist double-double while Draymond Green had a good all around game with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Warriors currently occupy the 7th seed in the Western Conference, 9.5 games behind the first place Nuggets and two games away from missing the play-in tournament.

Offense is the Warriors strength as they rank 2nd in scoring with 118.4 points a game on 49.3% from the field. They sit at 14th in defensive rating but 26th in defensive scoring with 118.2 points allowed per game.

Steph Curry still has no timetable for his return from a serious knee injury while Andre Iguodala has already been ruled out as the only other player listed on the injury report.

Dame Time

The Portland Trail Blazers fell two games behind .500 at 26-28 after losing to Milwaukee on Monday. The Blazers were out-rebounded by the ridiculous margin of 55-28.

Dame Lillard was the games leading scorer with 28 points on 7-18 from the field and 12-12 from the charity stripe. Josh Hart added 14 points and 8 rebounds while Anfernee Simons chipped in with 21 points and 5 assists.

Portland currently occupies the 11th seed in the Western Conference, a half game behind the play-in tournament. The Blazers are middle of the pack in scoring at 15th with 114.5 points a game on 48.1% from the floor.

Defense has been an issue as they sit at 27th in defensive rating and 18th in defensive scoring with 114.3 points allowed per game. Jusuf Nurkic will be out with injury until after the All-Star break along with Justice Winslow while Drew Eubanks and Keon Johnson are listed as questionable.

The Portland Trail Blazers enter this game as 3 point home favorites with a total set at 235. Both sides are trying to turn their seasons around and are dealing with a major injury between Steph Curry and Jusuf Nurkic.

Jerami Grant had an amazing start to the season but his three-point shooting and rebounding has been a struggle recently. Grant has a Points + Rebounds line set at 25.5 and he has fallen short of that total in 8 of his last 10 games.

I would expect either Draymond Green or Andrew Wiggins to guard Grant and both are elite defenders. Dame Lillard usually pops off against Dubs and he has never seen a shot he didn’t like.

Grant has hit only four three-pointers in his last four games despite taking 19 attempts from beyond the arc. Points in the paint will be tough to come by based on the Warriors defenders also making rebounds hard to come by. Let’s go under on Grant again!
