Philadelphia 76ers vs Portland Trail Blazers Betting Analysis
The Portland Trail Blazers continue their east coast road trip in Philadelphia with an interconference clash against the 76ers.
The 76ers won their third straight game 117-94 on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. The Blazers fell to 2-2 on their trip with a 115-93 loss against the Boston Celtics.
This will be the second and final game in a regular season series that Philadelphia leads 1-0 after winning 105-95 in Portland on January 19th. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 PM EST/4:00 PST from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
76ers Rolling
The Philadelphia 76ers improved to an impressive 43-22 on the season after beating in Minnesota. The Sixers dominated the glass with a 54-34 rebounding advantage.
Joel Embiid led all scorers with 39 points on 13-22 from the field. Tobias Harris recorded a 10 point, 14 rebound double-double while Tyrese Maxey added 27 points and 5 assists.
Philadelphia currently occupies the three seed in the East, 4.5 games behind the first place Bucks and two games behind the second place Celtics. The 76ers rank slightly above average in scoring at 14th with 115 points a game on 48% shooting.
Defense has been their calling card as they sit at 6th in defensive rating and 3rd in defensive with only 111 points allowed per game. The Sixers sport a completely clean injury report, a breath of fresh air nowadays.
Trail Blazers Bounced By Boston
The Portland Trail Blazers slipped to 31-35 on the season after losing in Boston on Wednesday. The Celtics won the battle for points in the paint 44-34. Dame Lillard led his team in scoring with 27 points while shooting only 7-16 from the field.
Jerami Grant was next in scoring with only 13 points and 6 rebounds. The Blazers currently occupy the 13th seed, one game shy of the play-in tournament.
Portland sits directly behind Philadelphia in scoring at 15th with 114.6 points a game on 48% from the floor.
Defense has been a struggle as they rank 27th in defensive rating and 18th in defensive scoring with 115.6 points allowed per game.
Anfernee Simons is listed as questionable for this contest with an ankle injury while Ryan Arcidiacono is out with a back injury.
Philadelphia 76ers vs Portland Trail Blazers Expert Prediction
The Philadelphia 76ers are heavily favored with a spread of 9.5 and a total set at 232.5. These teams seem to just love scoring on each other as they have went over the total in eight of their past ten meetings.
They rank 5th and 6th in adjusted offensive rating and both average 115 points per game. Both sides will have fresh legs with multiple days of rest and James Harden will surely push the pace in his return from injury.
Anfernee Simons should also be back in action, giving Portland that important second scoring option.
