NBA Player Props Predictions 1: James Harden OVER 17.5 Points (-130) DK
Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard James Harden is averaging 15.9 points on 46.2% shooting from the field through the early part of the regular season.
Harden has now scored 18+ points in 5 of his last 7 games while landing on 12 & 15 in the other two games. What’s really interesting is that Harden has now scored 17+ points in 19 straight games against the Golden State Warriors.
This is a streak that dates back to 2015 across four different teams: the Clippers, 76ers, Nets and Rockets. This also includes both games this season where Harden scored 18 & 21 points.
The Warriors are middle of the pack in terms of scoring from opposing shooting guards, but they still allow 21.88 per game.
Harden has gotten to the free throw line 7 times in 3 of his last 4 games, giving him a third of the necessary points from charity stripe. Look for Harden to continue his scoring run against the Warriors tonight at home.
NBA Player Props Predictions 2: Michael Porter Jr. OVER 15.5 Points (-135) DK
Denver Nuggets small forward Michael Porter Jr. is averaging 17 points per game on 47.5% shooting from the field through the first 25 games of the 2023 NBA campaign.
Porter Jr. has cleared this point total in 15 of those 25 games for a 60% success rate. This will be MPJs first game against the Brooklyn Nets this season, but he recorded 23- & 28-point efforts against them last season and Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaaron Gordon all played in both of those games.
The Nets allow the 4th MOST points to opposing small forwards with 24.10 per game. Recently the Nets have allowed Kevin Durant to score 27 points, Keegan Murray 24 points, Saddiq Bey 21 points.
Franz Wagner 20 points and Gordon Hayward 22 points. MPJ also thrives at home where he scores 19.5 points per game compared to only 15.3 on the road. Everything lines up for Porter Jr. to clear this low total against a Nets team that’s vulnerable to his position.
